  • Does anyone have an update? HGVC Flamingo

Does anyone have an update on the renovations of the units in the HGVC Flamingo? We're staying there in a few months and I was wondering how things were going along?

I stayed there 4 years ago and loved the location - the pool area at the Flamingo Hotel was just lovely and we found it so convenient to where we liked to be on the strip.
Can't comment about the condition of the units but they were nicely layed out - we stayed in a 1BR

If you are going there in a few months, you definitely will not be using the pools unless you are a polar bear. We have stayed 5 times at the HGVC/Flamingo but not recently enough to comment on the renovations.

Actually, I was hoping that they would be complete soon, so I could get a renovated room.
I don't think I've ever used the pool in Las Vegas, but we usually only go in the spring and fall, maybe if the pools were heated.

I was not suggesting anyone swim in Vegas in December/January - just that the 'setting' of this TS is quite lovely with pools, gardens, flamingos, fish.....

....... as opposed to the parking lot/dumpster/construction view u can end up with in Vegas.

I agree, I can't wait to see the pool! I just wish that the pools were heated in order to take advantage of them during the spring and fall.

We will be there from 10/10 thru 10/17. I spoke with reservations today and they told me that the renovations have started and will probably not be completed until Sept. 09. It sounds like they are doing one floor at a time starting at the top and keeping the adjacent floor below as a buffer. Hope that helps. I'll happy to give you a report when I return.

We returned late last night and, as promised, here's what I learned. Work is proceeding on the Main tower and they have completed floors 17 thru 15. When the main tower is complete, they will renovate the two smaller towers, one at a time. The work seems to be moving along faster then originally projected and they expect to be done in March '09. If you have any other questions, let me know. Right now, I need a nap.

Sorry, I didn't get a chance to do that.
