  • Finally bought my first HGVC package

Set up my account today. There is open season this weekend at the Grand Waikikian in an oceanview 2br unit. I think I'm heading over there for the weekend just to check it out. We have Jimmy Buffet tickets as well for Saturday at the Waikiki shell. Woo hoo.

Congratulations, Jim. Isn't it nice to live on the Islands so going there isn't far or hard to do. Enjoy your trip and the Hilton chain. Now you have more opportunities yet to travel.

I bought at Las Vegas Strip. I overpaid a bit, but I really wanted it. Got it from a partner.

I was able to book Open Season in a 2 bedroom Premier unit at the Grand Waikikian. That is full oceanview for this Fri and Sat. This happened quickly and I am very pleased. I'll be going to the Jimmy Buffet concert as well. I will be taking some pictures and posting them.

          Congrats!

It's only $806 MF for 7000 points. For that rate, I can get 12 nights in Gold Season at HHV in a 2br unit. $67/night does it for me.

I would be interested in seeing photo's of the view from your unit. We were there last month and it seemed to me that it was to far back to have a really good view. Even though the units in the Lagoon Tower might be older, I'd rather have the view that is less obstructed by buildings. The Waikikian has several buildings in front of it to compete with for a view including the Lagoon Tower.

yeah, I've been there, too. I think you are right. I went there right on opening day, but I didn't get to see the units. It's a very tall building, so if it's high, then being further away from the ocean is actually better. I'll take pictures and we shall all see.

I plan to stay in the Lagoon Tower some time this year, too. Believe it or not, I've seen some pictures from the oceanview units in the Kalia tower and it seemed pretty good even though that building is the farthest away from the ocean.

There is great open season right now in Hawaii. Since you live there you could make good use of a few nights hear and there are those terrific open season rates.

How does pricing compare to HGVC in Orlando area? My nephew is talking about those, and I am trying to get him to widen his options....
