I own 2 non-Starwood network units that I have used as well as exchanged at various exchange companies. I always deposit online & never had a problem until last year when my VCC week was cancelled. When I called II I was transfered to the Sheraton desk and the deposit was re-done by them with no explaination of why it had been cancelled by them in the first place.

Suddenly, and with no explaination, both my Sheraton managed resorts disappeared from my account yesterday. I followed up with a call to II this am at 7am PDT. Transfered to the Sheraton desk, Alex seemed to have no clue what I was referring to. He put me on hold and came back shortly to say they were upgrading the system and having a problem with Sheraton units. He said he had forwarded my info to the "person in charge" and it would be resolved with-in 24 hours.

Rechecking my II account, my units now are back but have new resort designations and only 2009 units are listed. I can search without any input of reservation dates or numbers but I am only allowed to search from today through 365 days out. There doesn't appear to be any change in exchange power but there also is no way to deposit my 2010 units or to search for anything beyond Aug 19, 2010. This may be a temporary glitch but it does deminish the use of my Sheraton units in my own personal account. I have no problem allowing Starwood to pick a deposit for my exchange but I have a big problem with them limiting my use according to what my membership in II allows me. I should be able to search 2 full years out and deposit my 2010 weeks if I choose to do so. Right now I can't do either. I'll give them a few more days to iron out these problems and then I'll start up the chain voicing my complaints.

So far, no change in the status of my account......Still nothing showing for 2010/2011. No way to make a deposit, or do a search past 2009.

I called II today as well and spoke to a guide. She confirmed what Bardweller has posted. She said there wasn't a date when the transition would be done. However, she was also and owner and was similarly affected.

Okay, a week into this "new & improved" system and still no progress. Starwood has hijacked my 2 Sheraton managed resorts. Not only have they shortened my search window to 12 months but I am unable to deposit my weeks. They have in reality STOLEN my timeshares. My 2010 reserved weeks are under their control as well since my units remain missing from my account. I will be calling Starwood Owner Services today. My patience has run out and I don't trust Starwood to fix this.

Update......I along with others have called both Starwood, and II. There seems to be conflicting info being given out to those who are inquiring about what is going on. Surprise, surprise.

At any rate, I don't have a clue if any of this is accurate, but this is what I was told.

                  1) Starwood is no longer going to be doing bulk bankings.

                  2) You will need to go through Starwood in order to have your week deposited into II. That includes......Deposits, searches, and request first.

                  3) If you request any of the above, Starwood will deposit your deeded week. (I have a strong feeling that is misinformation.) Also, you can deposit your week online, if you like to do so.

                  4) If you'd like to use your week to do searches.....Starwood will deposit a dummy week matching your deeded week into your account for you to search with. You will have 1 year to decide to cancel that search, and get your week back from Starwood.

BTW, in my conversation with Starwood/II, I was given the very strong impression that II was initiating some of these changes. Again, couldn't say if any of this will actually come to fruition.

My opinion is that Starwood/II should be formally making an announcement to it's owners/members that are being affected by these changes. This way, the rumors would be put to rest, and we would now for certain what we can expect in the future.

Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be happening.

I just checked my account in II, and noticed that I now have my Starwood weeks listed under two different catagories........."Gold Plus" has been added for the exact same weeks that I have currently have deposited in II.

So, I now have the same weeks listed under the previous code, and in addition, the new code of ST2= Gold Plus.

I have VCC (listed as VC3) shows Gold Plus and my SDI (listed as SI1) as Platinum Plus. They showed the new codes & designations when the new system appeared last week.

I did some trade testing this morning using the 2009 Starwood units listed in my account against my DBR 1 bedrm unit for 2010 and my studio L/O Sedona for Xmas 2010. I could see exactly the same Starwood stuff with every search. There doesn't appear to be any Starwood advantage using the units as they are. The exception is that my non-Starwoods can see beyond the 12 month mark. I actually did spot a few units for the end of summer and early Sept that I can't reach with the Starwood weeks in a search. The system also appears very glitchy when searching for Sheraton or Westin specifically using codes designations (ex: SDI or WKV) with non-Starwood units.

I'm wondering if the new designations "Gold/Platinum" etc., can be representative of a point value being given to each week?

My week is a platinum week, in platinum season, and a holiday week to boot, yet it's been given "Gold Plus" status.

PS....If I hadn't just called yesterday, I'd call II, and ask them for an explanation.

One more thing to add......It has been posted OY that Starwood weeks no longer have the option of "request first."

I'm not sure this is correct. You cannot "search" first beyond 12 months. I think you can place a request. Starwood supposidly holds your reserved week. You have the ability to cancel the request and get your reserved week back. I don't trust them so I won't try it.

Well, that describes 'request first' - you still have your reservation at your home resort unless they match your request.
This normally (I know, nothing is normal any more!) cancels at the 75 day mark so u can decide whether to deposit or use your week.
