    Can't find answers to this during a search...

    I am thinking about buying two TS on the resale market. My question is this:

    If I have two TS does HGVC account for those points together. Do I see 10K points under my account/ownership name if I own two 5000 point TS's, so that I can book a vacation that may be worth 10K points? Or do I have to manage those TS's seperately? I'm hoping that I can register both TS's under one "account" so that when I book reservations I can access all points as opposed to booking two seperate reservations? Thanks

    Yes, the points will automatically be put together is you own at HGVC-developed properties (Orland, Miami, Las Vegas, Hawaii). If you own at an affiliate, you will have two accounts but you can call to transfer points.

    Also remember that you can bank and borrow points with HGVC. For example, if you owned 5K points, you could bank 2009's points into 2010, and then borrow 2011's points to come up with 15,000 points to use in 2010. It is a very flexible system.

      Kurt as usual has the right answer.

      Just one more piece of info: The answer is true only during the open season ( less than 9 months before check-in.) During home season (9-12 months before checkin) you can not combine the points.

        @Kurt, thanks for the response.

        @Bill, is this true also if both deeds are at the same "home".

        What would you guys recommend as far as resale purchases; would it be better to buy two 5K gold TS's as opposed to one 7K platinum package (if purchase pricing was the same)? I know the MF on the two deeds would outweight the MF on the one deed with higher point value, but that would essentially be buying an xtra 3K in points for the price of MF. Or is there a benefit to having a PLAT deed as opposed to a GOLD deed that I'm not aware of which would give the PLAT owner more value?
        Thanks for the response guys, wife and I are purchasing soon and want to be well educated.

          I personally would prefer the one 7k platinum vs the two 5k gold due to avoid the higher yearly MF but I guess it depends on how many points you need for stays at their resorts in Orlando, Vegas, Oahu and the Big Island.

          Not really unless you plan to do the cruise exchange or honors conversion, then the platinum points offer a better exchange value

            If you buy a HGVC developed then the points will automatically be in the same account.

            I own an HGVC and an affiliate (Bay Club) that has different rules. So I have two HGVC accounts, but I only really use one. Every year once I pay my MFs I tranfer my BC points into my other HGVC account. It takes one quick phone call to accomplish this and then it is done for the year. So not really an issue.

            This post is from August, but I thought I should share my experience anyway.
