And I didn't even negotiate with them...that is what they offered when the rep put her supervisor on the phone. They originally wanted $999 for 7 days 6 nights at the Hilton Waikoloa resort in a hotel room.

You definitely need a car rental at Waikoloa. If you planned to eat only at the resort, you'll blow through the $100 Hilton dollars at by lunchtime. It's CRAZY expensive on the big island. You'll have to do some driving to get to NYC prices. We found a subway and our cheapest dinner was Outback.
