  • Help Need to Speak to a High level Manager at Chase MR CC card ASAP!

I need to speak a supervisor / troubleshooter at Chase MR immediately. I have a problem with my account an I need to speak to a Manager of some authority to release the account ASAP.
Can someone get me in touch with a Vice President or high level manager that can release my account that has a hold TODAY!
Customer service is giving me the typical roadblock.
All of this for a $15 late payment.
No way to treat a loyal customer.
    Thanks in advance.

No contact for you, but did you try calling the regular customer service number and choosing the option for "Lost or Stolen Card"? That usually gets you to a more sophisticated group of reps. Good luck!

Resolved but still Mad as hell!

Fact: I always pay my balance in FULL , plus some extra $ due to rounding every month. Statement cycle closes on the 10th of the month and I usually check the account online. Last Month for whatever reason I did not check my online acct until yesterday. I saw the overdue amt, penalty, interest. I admit I was in error upon speaking to CS. 1st level said sorry no can do, Second level with more persuasion removed the penalty, and late interest.

Up to now online or Customer Service has not told me that my acct was frozen until they get paid. I go to use card for over the phone transaction today. Sorry denied. OK I will call back later after I check with Chase. Call Chase and make payment over phone, but we can't do anything until midnight when you check clears. Let me speak to your manager. Sir I am a CS manager. But you don't understand all of this for $15. This goes on for about 15 mins.

After some detective work on Google I found my way to the Executive Suite at CMB. A very nice lady did some legwork and dotted her I's and crossed her T's and released the acct.

Now I am a happy camper.

BUT I must admit that this experience has me reviewing my options with regards to using the Marriott rewards card from CMB.

Save that number for future usage and always have multiple back up credit cards. Keep the ones at the top of usage who don't kill you on charges, late fees, etc. This way you can penalize those card companies that treat you poorly.

The credit card companies purposefully put all these hoops into place so that you need to call back multiple times for dozens and dozens of minutes with low level employees hoping you will just give up. This business practice really sucks. Your case happens all the time. I know, it happens to me about once per year.

Credit card companies really do suck.

          Don't mess with my money!

They picked on the wrong guy today.

I will not give up when it comes to their bureaucratic crap at CC customer service. There is always a back door to resolve issues like I experienced today. Those poor CS managers... "Laughing" I really cut them down at the end of my phone calls with them. If they had any brains they too would find the number and just say "You did not hear me say this, but you can call #####".

But they will get in trouble anyway since most of those calls are recorded.

          Yes they do suck.

And you know what I very well could have waited until tomorrow, I could have used another card. But they gave me an obstacle that I just refused to let stand in my way. I just broke down the barriers!

I had similar experiences (mostly them getting the check late) and usually get the extra charges reversed. They may be a bit more stringent in these harder times. Like Jim said, always have several cards and when one annoys you or reduces the perks, switch to another.

Good job Billy and glad you broke down their barriers.
Interesting in the US that people use cheques so often. We rarely use it in Australia.
Do any of you do what we do and just have an automatic direct debit set up with the cc company to pay it off each month on the due date? Or is that an Australian thing?

If I write 10 checks per year that's lots. I have everything set as direct debits. That way I never need to worry about a late payment.

Almost all of my bills are paid online. However Chase did sell me on the automatic payment method.

I will do that now as well. I prefer to have more control of my finances rather than an outsider picking my pockets.

I dunno, we've had good luck with our Capital One card. I think it's just the luck of the draw with CS. I have the Marriott card too--in fact I just upgraded from the regular card to the black card.

But get this--I applied for the black card, then a week later I got a letter from the regular card saying they're lowering my credit limit. I think, okay, I won't be getting that black card. Two days later I get an e-mail saying Congratulations on your new black card! I call to cancel the old regular card, and it's obvious that they have no idea that they are issuing me a new card.

Quite a while ago, I had a problem with a charge made on my Chase card. They told me it was too late to dispute it, but after sending them their own rules and regulations and mentioning the attorney general as the next stop, they grudgingly removed the charge. It was my highest use card and a few months later, something else annoyed me and I told them where to swipe it. A couple of years ago, I got another Chase card, but when they reduced the perks of using it, I just cancelled the card. I have a Citi card now that will reduce perks on July 1 and they will see a dramatic reduction in my usage of that card.

I have that one, too! Where you get extra points for using it at the grocery store? I can't believe they're dropping that--I'm going to cancel the card.
