With the new points system coming online and the hectic summer reservation season upon us, I was looking for feedback and opinion about probing the 'new' dynamic and comparing to past results and experience to gauge how the coming changes are affecting our ownerships and exchange potentials.
What I'd like to do is come up with a list of targeted Marriott resorts that we track in detail, with both Marriott and non-Marriott properties as the traders. Most of us have a home resort that we know the most about and can share our historical data and observations about.
I'd also like to track II Getaways to the same targeted resort list.
Here's an example. With my Marriott trader, I'm not seeing any Marriotts in Hawaii this evening. However, I do see the following Getaways:
Marriott's Ko Olina
MKO
Kapolei , HI , USA

We know this is normal stuff. Developer-owned intervals being marketed for rent through II. What I'm interested in is seeing how things change as the new points system begins. Will trust-owned (all un-sold developer weeks are in the trust now, right?) intervals still be marketed like the above getaways? Are there really that many Ko Olina owners of 2BR lockoffs (and Waiohai owners) turning their weeks in for MRP's (another source of Getaway intervals)? If so, since last December was the deadline, why are the weeks showing up now?
Anyway, I remember getting up early one morning awhile back and spending a couple hours with a group of TS4M'ers 'comparing notes' while doing trade tests and found the shared experience to be quite enlightening. I'll be up early tomorrow morning to try for a July week at NCV (another 'change', as, in years past, today would be 'that' day) and I'll do some more trade and getaway tests on my list, which is SoCal and Hawaii, as I've been doing for the past couple months.
If there's any interest, I'll be happy to participate.
