  • Destination Club- no transfer process available...

I sw a woman who purchased the destination club points directly from Marriott (not a legacy owner with a specific deeded week behind it).

Her situation has changed drastically and she needs to sell. However, for the last two months- she has been unable to discover what transfer process or transfer fee would be required to do so.. Marriott reps keep telling her it can be transferred, but as of yet nobody has been able to provide her with a transfer form or tell her if that transfer fee will be for the account, or per deed (these are inventoried in allotments of 250 points).

After multiple calls, the best answer she has been able to get is...

"We do not currently have a transfer process in place at this time."

Just a little FYI for anyone who is actually considering buying this destination club from Marriott. It looks like they forgot to design an exit door, and aren't in any real hurry to do so..

      Seriously, how crazy is that?

You would think that in order to sell DC points, you would have to have in place a way to resell/transfer them. Sheesh!

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

I guess Marriott just can't get enough bad press amongst timeshare owners. I suppose it's a good thing most new buyers never read the internet or find TS4M's or TUG. Eventually, these minor issues that Marriott shows little interest in fixing will come back to bite them in the end.

Shaking head. Rolling eyes. Big sigh.
Makes one wonder what else hasn't yet been thought of.
Time for new management. This whole DC process has been mishandled from the beginning, IMHO.

Some developers play this game. Sunterra / DRI in Europe for years only allowed transfers of points memberships to other existing members, not to non-members, although that seems to be changing.

You could be describing any time share in today's market.
