  • Legend's Edge pending purchase HELP!!!

I have this weekend to decide if I am going through with a purchase at Legends Edge, Panama city for a silver week 1-6 and 49-50. ( This is a resale and not from Marriott). I don't own any other Marriott so it looks like I can reserve six months out. Can I later change request to Platinum week during Flex exchange period or with Marriott as I get closer to check in date?

I actually thought that January weeks would at least be gold but found out it's silver. My thought was to also join Florida club and reserve one of the Florida east coast Marriott's in January but they are platinum. So what can I get to either trade through II ( with higher trading power than Legends Edge) or rent out? Does this even make sense or should I not complete this deal? How much is additional cost for Florida club?.

Is it really only $30 per year?

Does anyone have Calender and chart of Marriott season's for all of Florida club resorts? If any resort only has Platinum and gold weeks am I locked out from reserving with a silver week?

Unless the silver usage matches what you will reserve, I would not purchase that season. Also, Florida Club membership will transfer if it is already part of the account (you can verify this by looking at the last maintenence fee bill).

As with all timeshares, buy exactly what you plan to use.. If you are buying for exchange ammo- you may be sorely disappointed.. With Marriott creating so many "inventory buckets", it may take some time before consumers really know how future exchange availability will be for this program- and whether it is easily accessible to members of any specific external or internal exchange system. If buying to exchange- at this point I'd recommend using rentals rather than buying anything at all..

Also- it is never reasonable to expect a silver season week to exchange for a better season.... Sort of like the empty promises sales weasels make to unsuspecting tour targets who leave believing that they will get prime vacations via last minute exchange liquidation. It just is not something that happens!

      Hi Larry,
      Happy Birthday!

I suggest u pass on this regardless of the price - even if free.
For very little money. - certainly under 2K - you can get a Grand Vista 2 BR lock-off platinum on eBay that is part of the Florida club. Grande vista trades extremely well thru II and u can reserve at 12 months. Florida club resies are at 6 months and I have always been able to reserve at Beach Place or Ocean Pointe in March or Early April.
Florida club is not optional and is part of your maint fee. It is a line item at $30 but other marriotts have a "similar" charge of around $25 so u r really getting a good thing for almost nothing

There are some Grande Vista units that are NOT part of the FC so if u decide to explore this route, Dioxide has a list of the unit numbers that are excluded.

I Really suggest u do not rush this decision. Remember also that only Legends End and Ocean Pointe have silver season, the other there FC resorts do not.

        Darn this iPad auto correct!

Only Legends Edge and Ocean Pointe have silver season so that is what u can reserve. The other three FC resorts only have Plat and Gold.

Buying an Ocean Pointe silver ISA different story as the silver season seems to haves higher demand then the summer Gold if reserving and depositing late fall weeks. But the cost is much higher for this resort even in silver season.

Thanks very helpful and informative. I originally jumped on this as it was free and I figured winter weeks in Florida would trade great then found out thta was not so with Panama City and this was a silver week. I was leaning towards noy going forward but you have made up my mind and will not close on this.
