  • Sydney Marriott (Australia) becomes Pullman

The Sydney Marriott has become a Pullman, following the acquisition of the Mirvac portfolio by Accor.

Sydney Marriott Hotel will be rebranded Pullman Sydney Hyde Park in the first phase of an integration program following Accor's completion of its acquisition of the Mirvac Group’s hotel interests in Australia and New Zealand.

I recently stayed at the Marriott Hotel Sydney at Circular Quay - will this be totally removed from the Marriott Family (reward point resie) as a rebranded Pullman?

I had wanted to visit again

I got an email from Le Club Accorhotels offering triple points for stays (I've got the Accor timeshare).

The Sydney Marriott Hotel is the first of 43 Mirvac hotels to join the Accor network and to accept Le Club Accorhotels and Accor Advantage Plus benefits. Stay tuned for further announcements as to when, and in which other Mirvac hotels, your member benefits will apply.

I read somewhere that Accor introduced a special program for Mirvac shareholders where they can get 15% discount off stays with the Accor global network.

It seems there is a big reshuffle happening. On the same day that Accor bought the Mirvac from Marriott they sold Motel 6 in the States to Blackstone who are accumulating quite a large hotel portfolio including Hilton and La Quinta.

Edited to Add: Lisa is right Pat. Sorry if I caused you some worry.

Pat, that's a different Marriott (not the one you stayed at). I originally booked into this one until I knew you planned to stay at the Marriott at Circular Quay.
