Searching II with Marriott Points....

I have such trouble searching II with Destination Club Points. Sometimes it works, but most times it doesn't. Grrrr. Using various point amounts, I Constantly get "Sorry we did not find any matches for your travel dates & destination." Meanwhile there's plenty of availability in weeks.

Is it that there are really so few points deposited in II, or is the online search engine messed up? Or, my computer?

Just wondering what others have experienced?

Do you refresh your computer a bunch of times? I need to do that almost every search I do with my II weeks account. I don't have destination club points, so can't address that specifically.

Yes, I've tried everything! My Starwood account has to constantly be refreshed, in order to be sure you're not missing any available weeks. But this is different. Nothing shows up, no matter what you do.

The only thing that has been consistent for me is searching within a 2-3 month time frame. For instance, I usually get much better results with flexchange dates. Other than that, it's been a total bust.

BTW, the point requirement is not lowered during flexchange.

You are mentioning picking different point amounts....could that be the issue? Maybe the lower point amounts are equal to "blue weeks" studios and thus have poor trade power???

You can search without depositing points, even "Short Stays."

The chart gives you the amount of points needed for various size units, and also time frame...Peak, shoulder, etc. There does not seem to be any difference in points based on rating of Premium vs Select, etc. None that I can see anyway. For instance....A studio @ The Four Seasons in July is 1000 pts. A studio @ Westgate (a "Select" resort) is the same.

I did 5 searches with 4500 2BR and search all destinations with a Nov-May 2015 search window….and I got one error of "sorry, nothing here"
When I refreshed….it was normal again.
