I received this email from II with my "old" Personal II account number on it....the one that my Marriott Weeks used to be in before the DC. I still have other ownerships so have kept this account.

I was able to upgrade this account to Platinum for 2 years for $129. You have to "uncheck" quite a few things like auto renewal and additional years of regular II membership but I was able to add two years of platinum membership only to my current membership which still has 5 years to go.

I then went to my Marriott DC. Account and was able to enter the code there as well although I did not upgrade that account.....

Interesting that it accepted the code on your DC account. I attempted the code in our DC account, no luck. I even attempted to get the 50% discount on the phone with a rep and it wouldn't work. Were you already II Platinum? The phone rep told me that it was only offered to those that were never gold or platinum previously.

It has been MANY years since I had a gold account on my personal account.

Did the Platinum on my personal account only. MPizza I believe did it onher DC account. I will check with her to confirm,could be wrong.

Am thinking of rejoining II to get a week in Phuket. My husband says he'd like to go to Asia for next year's long service leave. I read on the worldmark forum that there was a 2 for 1 code but not sure if I can use it. Not really worth paying more as I only want to book a week.

Let me know what week you are looking for...January could be difficult but not December. There is also a Marriott resort in Bangkok I could check out for you, they have 3Brs. Be in touch.

Really? Had no idea there was Marriott in Bangkok. He's keen. Maybe we can do a direct swap again if you want anything I can get with my Worldmark. Will PM you when we get around to it.
Will call II on Monday and see if I can get the special or not. Otherwise, I might renew my RCI instead.
