Marriott Grande Vista

It has been so hot and humid here in the Orlando area that on Monday
7/24 The Marriott Grande Vista Marina would not allow anyone to rent
the canoes or duck - swan paddleboats due to 105 degree heat index !

New Pool

July 26

Got up early this morning and took a 2 hour dip in the pool
We were the only ones in the pool again the first hour or so

The new pool area is downstairs and just a few steps from
our building & units. The pools are beautiful with a spanish
looking fort theme - One has a zero entry - hot tubs - the
one we like is between 3 ft 9 inches and 4 ft 6 inches deep

You can bring a float - Restrooms nearby - "No Lifeguard"
The Marriott GV provides you with huge blue pool towels
that are located inside your unit and you use them all week

I am not sure how the guests that stay in the Studios handle this
since they do not have "washer and dryers" in the studio units
However, they do offer laundry facilities on the 3rd floor of our building


MGV - Negatives:
No Pool Towels out by the pool
No Life Guards or Security on duty poolside


We had another wonderful early dinner out on
our unscreened patio overlooking the pool & lake


Menu:
Smoked Pork Chops - Sliced Tomatoe
Sugar Snap Peas - Rice with Veggies

Fresh Fruit Bowl with an assortment of fresh fruits
watermelon - honeydew melon - pineapple - blue berries

Frozen Coca Cola in a Chilled Glass - Chilled Water
So with temps in the 90`s We are still roughing it!

Thanks for the great pictures and trip report Marti.

Grande Vista is one of my home resorts - it trades great but I LOVE to visit, too.

Going Thanksgiving week this year - can't wait.
My last visit was February 2005 and I stayed in the newly opened building 84....

Two Bedroom Lockout

We had a Two Bedroom Lock Out and it consisted of
a full one bedroom with a washer and dryer and an
adjoining studio unit (laundry room on some floors)

Wow...I just found this thread....nice....thanks for the photo's. I am going to show these to my wife...she will like this place.

Any idea how the studio units are with the limited Kitchens?

The studios are VERY spacious with King Size bed and sofa bed (queen)
There is a lovely sitting area near the balcony with sofa, chair, small table and 2 chairs...it is perfect for a couple or someone with small children.....
The studios are similar in size to BeachPlace Towers....large!

Marti, your pictures are always great and you show the units inside so well too. Your meal looks very nice and you make me feel hungry now.
