    Hi folks,
I thought I'd write and tell you how this was concluded.

After the telephone conversations I had, I just reiterated by email that I had written the cancellation notice within the 5 day cooling off period, but had sent this on the 9th day back to them.

Then by email, I received a reply saying that they were cancelling the contract and they were refunding me my deposit. Although I received two official letters after this countering the email claim; I was told by my email contact to ignore the letters, as these are procedural letters.

And now I can confirm that the whole of my deposit has been refunded back into my account.

Thank you all for your help and thank you Marriott for being pragmatic about this whole event!

I am now a satisfied customer, who will consider using Marriott for my future needs.

You are most fortunate. Most people don't get this lucky. I am guessing a lot has to do with the fact that it was Marriott, they still have a good shot at selling to another newb, they actually care about their image, and there are even experienced t/s folks who like their points and don't lose $ if they buy preconstruction prices.

Have fun shopping for a resale, and thanks for the update. We look forward to helping you through the next phase.

Count your blessings and your money for Marriott not wanting a disgruntled/discouraged owner.

This is a life lesson that you learned but were not hurt financially.

          WOW !

I sure glad this worked out for you. Most developers would have taken your money and ran.

Good luck in your quest for a TS. I know this could have soured you on the whole thing but we love our TS and are buying again.

Good business practice for Marriott...and good for you.

I'm sure this makes you inclined to buy a Marriott when you're ready (but resale next time, of course :-))
