  • MVCI - Advance Booking Help...

    Hi,

We own several weeks across over several resorts & whilst we're still quite new to the bookings etc with Marriott & II, I have a question or 2 that I hope some of you guys can help with:

    1) Can you pull forward future year(s) weeks for an extended vacation & book directly with MVCI (thus g'teeing your dates) OR do you need to deposit future year(s) with II & put in a request???

    2) If I Lock-off my 3 bed, how do I go about getting an AC??? I read these gr8 stories of folk who've locked off & gotten 3 weeks from it...I would like some

    Any chance of help???

    Thanks in advance

    Lee & Leigh

    1. Example: If I want to reserve my 2006 and 2007 weeks (say I have one week EY at a MVCI resort) but wish to stay 2 weeks in 2006 at my resort, I'll have to deposit (after reserving) my 2007 week with II (or an independent) and request a week in 2006 to match with my already reserved one (consecutive or concurrent depending on need). Same would apply for the reverse. Request-first would also work with the former, but not the latter, IIRC.

    2. When I was with II, the A/C offer would show up in my online account, inviting me to deposit one of our NCV intervals. These offers were transient, showing up and going away, I presume based on some demand formula. I always did request-first when we were members so never received an A/C. Never hurts to call and ask

      Thanks for this Pat,

Also in order to view exchange availability II is asking for a reservation number in order to check, is this the norm?

Do you really need to have a week(s) deposited already to just see what's available??? Bizarre if you ask me...lol

yes, unfortunately, with marriott, you need to deposit your week in order to view exchange availability...............

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

          Well- not really....

Select your week you want to use - then put in any reservation number starting with an '8' and make it 8 digits long...such as '8787675' or '8352764' - then put in the date and you will be in business.
If your resort has a 'view code' - you need to enter that, too.
If you don't know it, check your reservation from last year or call the owners vacation club and ask.

            pat,

could you please elaborate on this a little.

i tried this once, a while ago, and it didn't work......i guess i wasn't doing it incorrectly.

            1. do you need to have a week deposited in ii, or can you do this with no week deposited?

            2. since i have weeks deposited....once i am asked to choose a week, the minute i select one, my options on exchanges appear. i do not see an opportunity to put in this 8 digit number, and code........

I actually figured this a lil earlier, but thanks for pointing it out.

I used an 8 digit code from a recent booking, just changed the last 4 digits & input the search dates & voila!!! Worked a treat...

can now search without having anything already booked with Marriott...also worked a treat for gauging exchanges...

We have some European Marriotts &:

1)the 2 bed silvers were only pulling 1 bed & LO's for next August in the US, whereas
              2) 3 bed silvers were showing 2 bed US &
              3) US Sport Week @ Cypress Harbour was showing the 2 beds also

              ...strange...

Tried it several times & same results, so much for the European destinations being the Creme de la creme regardless of season huh...just glad we rescinded from buying direct, lying ar$e sales woman...lol

The way she sold it was that you could:

              a) pull upto 3 yrs ahead & book directly with MVCI for an extended vacation
              b) exchange seasons internally with MVCI with a simple upgrade cost (each time you traded season)
              c) exchange to any MVCI location internally with just a simple exchange fee

All without using II, we were told that II was only for exchanges outside of Marriott, or if we werent going to use that year!!!

Buyer beware I guess, but we bought resale in the end, so saved a packet!!!

I don't really find it strange.....2BR silver shouldn't be pulling 2BR platinum (summer) time....I think that you are seeing Platinum even if it is only 1BR and studios is good. And seeing 2BRs with your 3BRs is great! By going down a unit size you are seeing really good stuff.....and you only own silver - what would platinum have cost you????Your purchase price has got to be a LOT less than Platinum or even Gold whether direct from Marriott or resale.
Cypress Harbor can be a great trader - as you are proving with your sightings....why not post some of what your search shows you on the sightings board....people may want to jump on the 'silver' bandwagon

I suspect this is what Marriott WILL be doing in less then 5 years....only time will tell.

When we were with II, the way Pat (Grayfal) is doing it always worked for me. I never deposited with II, rather either did request first searches or shopped my weeks without depositing them.

what i was doing wrong, was using a week that i already had deposited with ii.................. now i know how to do it, and think it will come in handy in the future, when i don't have so many weeks deposited in ii.
