  • Aruba Ocean Club and ROFR

    Hi all,

Very nice Forum by the way.

I'm about to buy 2 TS weeks at the Ocean Club.
Resale and at a GREAT price...

    As of today.
Any idea about what's the bottom price before Marriott use their ROFR
for 1 Bedroom Platinum OV at Aruba Ocean Club?

    Thank you!

    Hi qlaval

    Welcome to TS4M's.........

The Aruba Ocean Club is a great resort. I have stayed there and loved it. I own at the Aruba Surf, and love that resort, too!

Although the Ocean Club, is pretty much sold out, Marriott doesn't often use their ROFR. It depends on the resort, and if they are in need of what you are buying. They may pass today, and next month use their ROFR, based on supply/demand. Some people would suggest that paying approximately 60% of Marriott's price, is about what you should expect to pay.

I would just go for it, in all likelihood, you will get it.....good luck!

      Thank you Angela,

I'm worried a little because paying 52% of retail price is a very good deal.
I've called Marriott and they don't have any inventory in the Platinum...nothing to help me.

So I'm kind of nervous about the ROFR

Would some people know a way to lower the risk of a ROFR?

        glaval,

Don't despair. Go forward. If Marriott doesn't exercise its ROFR, then you get the timeshare at the price you wanted. If it does, you keep your money in your pocket. There will be another deal to come along. Patience is needed. It's kinda of like buying a car, don't fall in love with it so much that you lose your perspective on how much you are willing to pay.

From all that I have read on the boards, it seems Marriott will exercise it's ROFR one day, and pass the next, for the same amount of money.

Don't worry, if you don't get this timeshare, you will get another. Just go for it, and keep your fingers crossed! I think the odds are in your favor.......
