  • Manor Club 2BD location preferences?

New owner of MMC and new member to TF.
Great website, helpful resource in my recent purchase.

Appreciate comments and responses from Ryne08 and Steamboat Bill yesterday!
Due to my two teens, we travel as a family during summer break. Not ideal in VA but we plan to reserve early July week this year.
Been to MC previously in July and Oct. but stayed w/family owners in a 3BD villa. No experience w/2BD locations at the resort.
Any suggestions/comments about your experiences would be appreciated.
We prefer quiet areas (especially at night), upper floors.
    thanks.

*Should have specified that we bought non-LO units in Phase 1 (older) property, not Sequel. Any details, buildings, unit#s, etc. you stayed in would be helpful and appreciated.

You can always make a request, but NOTHING is ever guaranteed, if you know what I mean. Try booking normally and then call the MMC directly 2 weeks or 1 week ahead of arrival and be nice to the manager (or booking agent) and ask for the BEST room. Tell them a joke first to get tehm laughing.

I just did exactly that for my Ko'Olina confirmation for next week. I got a call from the Ko'Olina and they asked if there was anything they could do for me ahead of time. I asked to be put on the list for an oceanview room which I realize I have very low probability of getting.

I asked why they called and they said that it was a new guest services function at the Ko'Olina to contact all guests ahead of time. I asked what they could do for me. She mentioned she could help if we needed a handicap unit or such. Then I told her that my entire family has a physical ailment that requires us to stay in Oceanfront units or we get really sick. She laughed and said she would tell the front desk supervisor and try to get me in for having a good sense of humor. I don't think it will work. But, I did get a good laugh out of it.

This is very good advice, when you call Marriott within the 2 weeks ask for a
3 bedrooms unit. However, summer time in Willimasburg is prime time and reservation may not honor your reguest.

Explain this is your first time exchange to your home resort with your family.

For total peace on the MCE side ask for the Patrick Henry Manor Bldg, Jefferson Manor Bldg, or Heritage Manor building.

Sequel side may be more peaceful, I like the Federal Commons and the Colonial Commons bluidings.

Good luck and enjoy your week.

Thanks again to all. Appreciate responses.

Ryne08 - sorry if I wasn't clear but we plan to reserve 2BR villa (4 of us). I stayed there last visit with family that owns and us in a really nice 3BR (6). I did hear there are very few of 3BR villas there and very hard to obtain.
Your suggestions were just the sort of info I was looking for. I know you have a lot of experience w/MC and rate it well. Great stuff for future reference....keep it coming!

From my limited experience with Marriott's Owner Services and Rm. Control groups, I agree with the suggestion to politely tell them what you want, indicating that you realize no guarantee granted on request, is the right approach.
Marriott seems, for the most part, to aim to please their guests.
Haven't slayed OS with humor yet but I'll work on it!

The 1st building built at Manor Club (can't remember the name of the building.) was not intended to be a TS. It was already built for full ownership condos when marriott bought. They are larger units and I understand that they have nicer cabinets and such.

The original building is Berkley. Some of the units have bigger rooms. The down side is that most of the kitchens aren't as nice. It is on the first tee of the Blue Heron Golf course and there are grills and a gazebo to the left of the building.

Jefferson is my favorite building. It is down from the main building and overlooks the first green of Blue Heron. There are grills right next to the building on the right.

Matt, is Jefferson part of Ford Colony, or MSE?

Does anyone have a scanned map of the MMC and MSE properties?

I would love it if you could e-mail or PM it to me or post a link.

I have checked online and can't find any maps of this property.

                  Thanks

Jefferson Manor is part of MMC (Manor Club Original).

I just called Marriott's Manor Club and they faxed over a map of the property within 3 minutes of me calling....great service!
