Do you get free Sea Pines passes for vehicles - cars and bikes, if you exchange into Marriott's Grande Ocean on Hilton Head?

Also, do they have an indoor pool and if so, how is it?

Actually, the rule for bike passes is a bit different:

1 - GO owners can get a Sea Pines bike/walking pass simply by asking at the onsite bike shop.

2 - Others can get a Sea Pines bike/walking pass by renting a bike at the onsite bike shop.

There have been reports that some have been able to get bike passes without meeting these requirements, but don't count on it.

There are no issues with car passes, correct? We are going to Monarch, Christmas of 2007, home resort, and I was wanting to get a 2 bedroom condo at Grande Ocean for my oldest daughter and her family because of the indoor pool. But didn't want them to have to pay for a Sea Pines Pass for the week to get back and forth to Monarch.

Quoting Carol, as to whether a GO occupant gets a Sea Pines car pass, "Yes". The Sea Pines car pass is automatically issued at check-in. No need to ask for it.

(Carol and I were there the same week last month and had brunch together one day, along with some other TUGgers. So we should have our stories straight! )

Thanks Carol and Dave M, never hurts to double check. I guess some Grande Ocean should start appearing at the end of December, 2006 for Christmas, 2007.

In addition to making an exchange request, carefully watch the II Getaways starting early next summer. Although they don't last long, I have seen Christmas weeks at GO as Getaways at least once each year for the past three years.

Currently, there are Grande Ocean Getaway weeks for this winter available for every week between late November and early March except for the two weeks between December 24 and January 6. Prices range from $469 to $884; $25 less if you are a Gold II member.
