  • Selling our Marriott

    Hi Guys,

Is there a place on timeshareforums where I can post our Marriott for sale? If so, how much does it cost to place an ad?

    Thanks.

I own at Horizons Branson. I'm asking exactly what we paid for it - $1,200. It's an EOY odd year 2 bedroom lockoff, silver (it floats weeks 1-9). Buyer pay closing and Marriott transfer fee (Marriott transfer fee was $25.00 the last time I heard and Marriott may charge $95.00 for ROFR fee?). Dues are $303.66 a year. If I don't sell it, my plans are in March 2008 to reserve 2009 Week 9 (lock it off) and have at least 2 Marriott deposits in II to use. Interval gave me a bonus week in 2007 for a Week 9 1 bedroom deposit.

You can list it here on the TS4Ms classified ads TS4Ms classifies

Sounds like a pretty good way for someone to get into the marriott system.

Thanks, Bill. I wanted to pass it on to someone else either here or at tug for exactly what we've got in it. I've learned so much on this forum and tug.

            Why are you selling it?

For such little invested, why would you be selling? Just curious, I guess.

We are finding that we pretty much just stay on our DVC points (our first love - VWL). For off season travel to Orlando, if I need an extra week, I can pick up a II Getaway week for a Marriott Horizons 1 bedroom for around $340. I just don't think I need to own a Marriott for off season travel into Orlando Marriotts. I guess if I was trading into Hawaii or Hilton Head I might feel differently. But we pretty much only go to Orlando - 2 hour flight from Indy and we're there. If we sell it fine, if not, fine. But we don't really need it.

Are the postings to TS4Ms classified ads free? I remember reading about credits and if you didn't have enough credits then you can buy them - I found all of this very confusing. Can someone give the "Dummies" version?

You need 10 credits for an ad. 10 credits are $5 or 7,500 TS4Ms pts.

                    Littlestar,

If I were you and would try to trade it via II and see what kind of trade you can get with that little of an investment. I would trade the 2 bedroom only to help your trading value.

                        I wonder if week 7 (President's Week, I mean--maybe sometimes it's week 6 or week 8?) would be a stronger trader than week 9?
