You should get platinum week in Marriott Legends Edge or Horizon in Branson. Both can be get for under $7000. Both are 2 bedroom. The maintenance fees are reasonable. Marriott Legends Edge belongs to Florida Club. You can book some of Florida resort like your home resort in 6 months without going to exchange in II. I think Marriott Manor is overrated and the price is higher

That is how I feel about owning at Laguna Surf. I call right at the exact time and day and have to hope for the best. It's a nerve wracking experience and then quite a let down when you don't get a week . . . and then you have to repeat the same process week after week, until you finally "get" lucky!
This is why we prefer fixed week/units and plan a vacation around these dates. We sold our DSV-I as we mainly bought it for use but couldn't deal with the frustration of reserving a week anymore.
LS has made one big improvement already and promised no more dropped calls either. I will send you a pm about it and in response to something else in your post too. I have an idea.

There is a way to improve it as they have done it at the LS but that would hurt the Marriott sales!

Welcome OP to TS4M's and the Marriott forum. IMO, you'd be better off renting if you like going someplace different every year. Timeshares can be rented relatively cheaply, even Marriott's, and you won't have the cap costs of purchase or the ongoing expenses and time investment to maximize your purchase, the latter of which you should not underestimate
Good luck!
