  • Has anyone stayed at the Marriott's Grand Chateau, in Vegas?

I grabbed a 3 bdrm for March 2, and was wondering what to expect......I did read some reviews, and they seem to be pretty mixed. I was wondering if anyone had stayed in a 3 bdrm, and knew where they were located.

I'm a little concerned with the construction noise, size of pool, and the location. Some say it's 1 block from the strip, others say a 1/4 mile.
Any info, or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Was there several months ago courtesy of BF and was again there last week. I don't know where the 3BRs are, probably on the ends. The building is to be X shaped but only two 'legs' exist and one of those has interior construction. Was warned about the noise, never heard any all week. Pool is tiny on the roof, new pool(s) come with further development.

Good for you - I think Dave M owns there - the last great pre-construction bargain by Marriott !!!
Yes, the 3BRs are on the end of the "X" with views on 3 sides.
Check with Dave or Pat H about what wing of the "X" to request.
March won't particularly be swimming weather, but it will certainly be pleasant.
Jackio visits frequently......just a fun location!

edit - it is very close to the strip without being ON the strip.
You would exit the resort, make a left and walk up to the corner...when I stayed at Polo Towers in April 2003, the Marriott property is where the parking for that resort was. It was a big empty lot. Directly across the street fro MAR is the entrance to the Aladdin Hotel Shopping Mall.
      It is a wonderful location!!!

We own a 3 bedroom unit at Grand Chateau. They are on the end caps of the towers. They are exceptionally large units coming in at over 2000 sq. ft. The third bedroom is a completely one bedroom unit with it's own full kitchen. The 2 bedroom master suite and 1 bedroom LO unit are seperated by a foyer giving the occupants of the third bedroom complete privacy if they want it.

While the LO is a complete full one bedroom unit, it is not as nice or as large as the 1 bedroom units they sell as 1 bedroom units. There are some differences. For instance, the kitchen and dining area are essentially the same with the kitchen appliance along the wall with the table in the same area. The bathroom also has a tub/shower combination rather than a soaker tub and seperate shower.

To date we have only stayed in the 2 bedroom master suite and a true 1 bedroom unit (did an internal exchange of the 1 bedroom LO back into MGC). I have pics of the 2 bedroom master suite as well as the resorts general area's.

As for mixed reviews, most seem to be because the resort lacks the amenities found at resorts that have more land to spread out. There is no major pool complex and the resort is still very young, lacking some of the amenities yet to be built. The pool and hot tub in existance right now are tiny by industry standards. However the units are spectacular IMO. Especially the 3 bedroom units that have floor to ceiling windows for great views of the strip.

The second tower will be open sometime next month. This will add a lobby bar, expand the Marketplace conveinence store, add a Starbucks express and a Pizza Hut express. This should take away a few of the complaints about this not being up to Marriott standards. It won't be until the completion of the 3 tower until a second, larger pool is added. That's going to be another 2 or 3 years at least.

I have pictures, including some of the doll house showing the layout of the 3 bedroom unit. Click on the photo and it should take you to my Webshots photo album of MGC.

doug.....Thanks for the info, and the great pics. The three bdrm sounds really nice!

I'm happy to hear that the second tower will be opening next month. As Pat as noted, it won't be that warm in March, but if we do get lucky with a warm day, the pool probably won't be that crowded, that time of year, anyway.

Ang, IMO you got the best timeshare in Vegas. I have videos posted on youtube. I will give you the link when I get a chance or just do a search for the Marriott Grand Chateau and it should come up.

It's not that bad in March. We're out there the second week of March every year. In fact, we'll be arriving the day you leave if you're staying the entire week.

Most of the times the daytime temps are in the 70's to 80's with cooler weather at night. For us, it's the perfect time to be in Vegas.

Next year I think you'll be out there during a busy time. If I'm not mistaken that NASCAR race weekend.

Hmmmm....I didn't realize that it was the NASCAR race weekend. I think it will be over by the time we actually get there, tho. It's the 29th-2nd. I don't think we are going to be arriving on that Sunday, Probably won't get there till Tuesday, and then stay through the following weekend.

Glad to hear that the weather will nice. 70's -80's, sounds perfect to me.

It should be good weather, as everybody has mentioned. It probably won't be swimming weather, even if the pool is open and heated, however. Especially if it gets windy. Windy here can mean 40-50 mph. winds. But if its not windy its beautiful. Make sure you bring a jacket/sweater/sweatshirt for mornings and evenings.

Walking to The Strip is more than doable, but watch the sidewalk closely, it is very uneven in spots on Harmon. If you want to see more of Vegas than just the Strip, rent a car. Parking everywhere is free, even valet parking, although you do tip valets, of course.
