MFs without final transfer

How do MFs get paid if you are between purchase and transfer? Marriott received the transfer docs in October, but I understand that it can take up to 4 months before the transfer is made in their system.

How do MFs get paid if you are between purchase and transfer? Marriott received the transfer docs in October, but I understand that it can take up to 4 months before the transfer is made in their system.

If you are buying through a broker, you can pay the MFs through the broker, and ask the broker to make a reservation as well. Otherwise ask the seller to do it.

Thank you. The broker helped me make a reservation shortly after I purchased it. I'm very glad I began reading these blogs! The reservation is in the name of the previous owner, but I assume that they will change it after the transfer is made.
Do you know if MVC bill the previous owner for the fees?

You will need to call Marriott after the transfer is complete to have the reservation changed. They do not do it automatically. Also- make sure they change the marriott Rewards number associated with the reservation. I know initially they changed my reservation name but retained the old Rewards acct. info.

Thanks! Received my transfer paperwork yesterday and spoke with MVC today. All went very smooth. The Marriott staff that worked with me were very helpful and did an outstanding job.
