  • New Marriott Property, Oceana Palms- The Palm Beaches on sale Jan. 8th!!!

Marriott’s newest Vacation Club, Oceana Palms, on exclusive Singer Island will be released to owners only on January 8th! There will be two 19-story towers with views of the Atlantic Ocean with 169 proposed two-bedroom/two-bath villas.

Oceana Palms is within walking distance to Marriott’s Ocean Point on Singer Island in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Ocean Front and Ocean View are the 2 views and the seasons are Platinum and Gold.

The pre-construction prices are starting at Plat OF $48,900, Plat OV $ 38,900, Gold OF is $ 30,900, Gold OV is $ 25,900. The Gold time frame is weeks 20-44 (May 20th-November 11th).

Prices will increase on January 24th. This property will be very similar to when St. Thomas and St. Kitt’s was released and the prices increased over $5000 from one day to the next.

All villas will have stainless steel appliances, 40” flat-panel Sony Television in living room and 32” flat-panel Sony Televisions in the bedrooms; oversized balconies, free wireless internet, and everything else you would expect from Marriott.

I'm not certain that you'll see a one day $5,000 increase in price on this property. It's very nice but I don't believe it's that nice.

As has been discussed there's likely to be a couple of problems with this resort.

    1. Both seasons are pretty long and include weeks that would be silver season weeks at Ocean Pointe . The gold summer/family season extends past the traditional summer months. This could leave families looking for a summer vacation week with less desirable weeks that fall after school is back in session. What I believe are the really popular platinum season weeks of Jan. to March could see a lot of compition from the added weeks to that extended season as well.

    2. The small foot print of the resort may not have enough room to provide that resort feel desired in locations like this.

On the other hand being a silver season owner at Ocean Pointe, I do feel better about the value of my silver season week. Especially since the timeframe we really like to travel in would be platinum season at Oceana Palms and our unit is a 3 bedroom LO ocean front unit. Granted the units aren't probably ever going to be as nice as Oceana Palms but, I'll take our "bargain" price of $19,900 and what I consider a better location on the beach over what's being offered right now.

      Gold OV is $ 25,900.

Just putting your info in a concise manner, it will be 'fun' to track the progress of these prices.

I have stayed at Ocean Point in Sept 2003 and really like the property.
I think everything Doug said about the seasons is going to be true.....WHY does Marriott 'blow it' so frequently with the season designation.
They did this '2 seasons' only at Fairway Villas in NJ and it has been a kiss of death for that resort. - they really NEED a silver season there.
The same problem exists at Newport Coast where there are Gold weeks that are much more desirable then many Plats.

I don't know why they just don't ask ME !

Pat, thanks for consolidating the information. I thought the prices were high. The Marco Island property is REALLY high. It will be fun to watch if nothing else.

        Cheers!

I just got a once in a lifetime offer via USPS for pre-construction prices, but it didn't list the prices.

The platinum season runs from mid-November til sometime in May, essentially a six month period.

Down the street at Ocean Pointe with a platinum season running from mid-December to the beginning of May ( a 4.5 month season), people are screaming because they can't get in during February and March. That even includes multiple week owners who are trying unsuccessfully to reserve 13 months out.

Can you imagine how much fun it will be with 40 to 50% (relative basis) more owners trying to get those prime weeks?

Also it was very clear when I did the sales pitch that Marriott is trying to move up-scale with Oceana Palms and Marco Island. The salesman made a point of saying that the units were being designed by Ritz-Carlton.

Yes, I got that same mailing the other day about pre-construction prices and special recognition of the 500 "founding" owners. This is the second version of this; there was one early in January with very similar wording (maybe only 200 founding owners) from my OP salesman. The fact that this second mailing came is a pretty strong sign that there is some sales resistance since pre-construction units always seemed to fly off the shelf.

Did the tour today and the prices are the same as OP except for the
Platinum OF is now $49,400 (increase of $500.00)
                Platimum OV $38,900
                Gold OF $30,900
                Gold OV $25,900

One thing different than any other tour we've done is: they are offering automatic monthly payments from you Marriott Visa card. (5 points per dollar on the signature card)..$722.00 per month payment (after 10% down payment on the OF plat) 3610 points per month, still 13.9% interest rate...YIKES!

Yup......Marriott does this time, and time again. I've learned that lesson and would not buy into any resort that did not have the proper season designations.
