Upgrade to Three Bedroom. Lucky or Common?

I posted this on TUG and I am seeking the opinion of those here as well.

I split and deposited my 3 bedroom Grande Vista 2006 week and then realized that what I really wanted to do is use it to reserve a 2007 January Grande Vista 3 bedroom. I called the Marriott desk and explained that I thought I made a mistake and told them what I wanted to accomplish. The rep said not problem and used my 2 bedroom side to reserve a 3 bedroom leaving me the efficiency for another trade. I was amazed! I traded Gold for Platinum and still have an efficiency to play with. Is this something that I can count on in the future or was it just dumb luck?

I used a two bedroom to get the three bedroom I had on hold for thanksgiving week. I think there are quite a few developer weeks being deposited at GV, they are doing a big sales push for the new section, so if the 3 bedrooms are from the developer, they won't last once they're sold.

It is all related to the time of year you are requesting.

I used a Florida Club studio - reserved a January week at Ocean Point instead of Grande Vista - to get a 2BR Grande Vista for Thanksgiving week 2006.

You can use a $299 accomodation certificate to get a 2 or 3BR Grande Vista in January, April, May, June, Sept thru early December.

The reality is although I love Grande Vista....when they finish the last 2 buildings, there will be 900 units per week available there...that is a LOT of units......
