  • Anyone know anything about Marriott's Canyon Villas in Phoenix??

My family expressed interest in heading to Phoenix this summer (even the 105+ heat). I put in a request for the Marriott, Westin, and Four Seasons. Marriott cleared almost immediately but II said I could think about it and call back tomorrow.

Has anyone stayed at this property in the past? Any specific buildings to request etc?? Thanks!

Take it - it is a fabulous resort....I am not a HOT person but if u r up for the weather - this is a great resort.

My friends really enjoyed the use of the JW Marriott Hotel - I will have to check about unit location but the TS buldings are 2 story....I would think the upper floor would be preferable unless u have young children who would play outside the door of the downstairs unit.

Yes, after talking about adding more resorts to our request for our ONE week of availability all summer, we thought we'd try Phoenix. We live in Southern Calif. so it's a painless 50 minute flight over. There's a little disappointment about not going to Colorado, but I don't want to lose this week at Canyon Villas.

I appreciate any help on room location as one of the TripAdvisor reviews mention building 2800. Do you know if II can note this in the reservation? I'd hope given we're Marriott owners they'd try and accommodate??

      Thanks Pat!!

I think you will really like this resort...and more advice to you is - plan your summer 2009 trip now by deciding where you would like to go and put in your request 13 months ahead.

You call the resort (not II) 7-10 days before check-in, ask for 'room control' , menton you are a Marriott owner trading in, give them the Marriott 8 digit reservation number from your II confirmation (not the II 11 digit confirmation number) and request a specific location/building number.
There are no guarentees but it is always better to ask.

I will ask that this thread be moved to the Marriott Board tomorrow where it may get some more posters about the resort.

          THANK YOU!!

You've been so helpful to me trying to figure this all out! And yes, we are already discussing next summer...possibly Hawaii. That's definitely a destination to get requested early. Where can I find the Marriott board??

I am beginning to feel like your personal concierge!

Click on 'forums' at the top of this page and then scroll down to Marriott.

Yes, with Hawaii you need to reserve a GREAT week in Orlando - preferable the week before or after Easter or the last 2 weeks in March....and put your request in 13 months ahead....and you should get a match....which will also helps u get good airfare.

            Good Night
