We are staying at our Marriott timeshare in Palm Desert and absolutely love it. We got a unit upstairs with a spectacular view over the golf course and mountain range plus we can see the snow-capped mountains of the San Gorgonio mountain range too. Weather is perfect. Not too hot or cold but we should have taken summer clothes with us. It was cold at home so we didn't think we would need them. The two bedroom condos are very roomy and comfortable. Our friends will arrive on Wednesday for a few days. I had never seen the lock-out before and it is much larger than I expected.

Service has been super very friendly here. We had a problem getting our Linksys' wireless card to work so management brought us a gismo to use which is wireless and fast by Wayport Wireless. They came to our condo at 10 PM or so last night and the phone company came today to check our lines because I still wanted to be able to use dial-up connection too.

If you have any questions about this timeshare resort, please ask so I can get the answers before we leave next Sunday.

We can hardly wait to return back again next year. The desert is beautiful in March!

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

Weather is perfect. Warm in the sun but cool in the shade. Great for walking. Nights are cold so you need a coat.

Weather was perfect until last night. Very high winds last night and snow flurries today at Joshua Tree National Park. We had four seasons all in one day. Interesting to say the least. Still a great view from this condo at Building R. Also nice to have the fireplace on at night.

                  Any "don't miss" suggestions?
Any tours you thought were good?
                  Any Casino tips?
Did you do Joshua Tree yourself or as a tour?

Pat, we took the Grand Valley Tour a few years ago when we had company from Europe. You can read more here:

                    http://celebrity-tours.com/city.asp

It showed us the old movie star homes in Palm Springs and took us to one of the Canyons. I believe it was Andreas Canyon. We visited some of the other canyons too on our own and also hiked to an Oasis in the desert. We enjoyed the hike especially, when we found the little lake.

                    http://www.palmsprings.com/points/canyon/

The windmill tour may be interesting too. We were planning to do it too but the weather wasn't good enough today so we missed it again.

You do not need a tour to see Joshua Tree National Park because there is a visitor's center at the entrance and they give you a good map too when you enter the park. You can get more information inside about the area.

I highly recommend the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway and the Palm Springs Follies too. I posted about this earlier today here:

                    See posts 11 and 12

We didn't visit any casinos as we found some very good restaurants to eat. You need to make reservations at most of these restaurants because they are very busy. If you want a list where we had dinner, please email me. I will look up the links for you.

A lot of good information is in this web site too:

                    http://www.palmsprings.com/

Enjoy your stay at Palm Desert!

                      Photo images

Pat, I loaded some pictures of our condo view at Smugmug. I am still there! It was a wonderful week with lots of different weather in one single week. California has temperatures way below normal right now.
