    Dear Marriott Vacation Club Owners,

MARRIOTT VACATION CLUB ANNOUNCES DEVELOPMENT AND SALES START OF MARRIOTT’S LAKESHORE RESERVE AT GRANDE LAKES

First Marriott Vacation Club Property to Share a Resort Destination with a JW Marriott and The Ritz-Carlton

Earlier this morning, the resort was formally introduced with a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the start of construction on the proposed 340 villas and town homes (upon build-out) with the first phase slated for occupancy by summer 2010. Sales will officially commence on July 12, 2008 with initial pricing ranging from $26,000 to $40,000 per week depending on the season and floor plan selected.

This is the first and only Marriott Vacation Club that is offering two-bedroom, two-bath Super-Deluxe Lock-Off Villas!!!

Tying in with the established Mediterranean architectural style unique to Grande Lakes, Marriott’s Lakeshore Reserve will evoke the timeless beauty of the Mediterranean incorporated with a blend of Italian and tropical influences. Carefully themed courtyards featuring a variety of butterfly, flower, magnolia and palm tree gardens will further enhance the lush landscaping and provide the ideal place for guests to enjoy the year-round balmy Florida weather.

Six spacious villa floor plans will range from 1,185 to 1,655 square feet of living space, and for the first time in North America, Marriott Vacation Club will introduce two-story townhomes and two-bedroom/two-bath lockoff villas offering two master suites. Designed to complement the luxurious design and décor enjoyed by guests of the neighboring JW Marriott and The Ritz-Carlton, the villa interiors will offer a blend of Mediterranean inspired and designed furnishings with a color pallet of olive green, terracotta, red, rich espresso and gold with shades of amber.

Each villa will feature a fully-equipped gourmet kitchen with granite countertops and GE stainless steel appliances; generous living and dining areas; multiple LG flat-panel LCD televisions with DVD players; oversized shower with multiple shower heads in master suite; washer and dryer; and wireless high-speed Internet accessibility. Three-bedroom, three-bath villas and town homes can accommodate up to 12 guests.

    Best,
    HLIW

It looks like a really upscale resort. I know that Orlando has it's share of resorts, but this one is out of the way, and connected to the Ritz Carlton, which is very nice.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

I stayed at the Grande Lakes Orlando Ritz-Carlton a couple New Year's ago and it was very nice and is physically semi-connected to the big upscale Marriott hotel ( just a walk along behind going by some pools, etc., however, the area is/was sort of isolated, set apart in the area. Hard to explain, but there was hardly anything nearby except for a Wahlgreens at a nearby intersection.

Don't get me wrong, I was happy to be at the Ritz and enjoyed the spa, pools, restaurant, New Year's eve party, but beyond things on-site, it was a hike.

Now, this is my experience and I was only there a few days, but this is how I recall it.

Maybe there are plans to expand the empty areas surrounding it.

The area is now growing with some new commercial construction projects, but you are right the area is isolated.
