Marriott "want-to-be" no more!!

We have been a Marriott "want-to-be" for a long time but just couldn't find the right deal. Well no longer!!

We signed this morning to buy a week at NCV.

For several years the gold season was priced around $13K ( resale of course) but for the past 6 months the price is more like $8000. Well at $7500 they finally got us.

Now, as long as it doesn't take us 8 months to close I'll be happy.

Bill from what I have heard you will be very happy with your purchase. They almost got me. If I did not have so many weeks I would have bought into Mariott myself.

Sorry, NCV is Marriott's Newport Coast Villas in Newport Beach, CA

We love it there and have been able to trade in at least once a year. (thanks to II having no 1 in 4 rule). It is a cheap get-a-way from the Seattle area and although not always warm, we love the area and the sunny weather.

I got the go ahead to buy for my 50th Bday ( over 2 years ago), but couldn't find a good deal at that time. So DW took back the OK.

But when she was asked about NCV by a co worker who will be there next month, she said that we were going to buy. So she came home and said "let's do it." I couldn't argue with it since it such a good deal.

PS now she wonders why we bought a winter/spring (gold) week since we like to go in the fall. I told her that the Platinum weeks are $5000 more (because they cover the summer months) and trading into the fall is no problem.

Congrats, Bill. I know that you like this resort as you go there often. Spring and fall are both nice seasons to go there but fall is warmer and you will not have rain but there are these horrible fires that may happen this time of the year. Have a look here. We have had them two years on a row while we were staying in Laguna so we decided to go early this year at the end of February and the first week in March. The weather was cool but very clear.

I recently took a picture at your resort of the view the higher up condos have today and it is quite spectacular. The newer ones, under construction, are higher up the hill yet so more view units are becoming available! Being an owner now, you will get the best view. This is great and there is so much to do and see in this area.
