Pardon my ignorance, as I have only owned a fixed week and a credit/points system. Both of which allowed me to pay my MF's in full or quarterly without concern to what I'd like to do with my week or credits (stay, book, exchange)
IF I owned an EOY Marriott...I'd pay half the maint fee each year in Jan-correct?
I'd want to book a year out for the best week. If, say, I had a week that had it's use year in 2011. In 2010, the same week-I'd call/go online to reserve. Would they want my 2011 (half) MF's at that time?
**OR**
Is that where exchanging comes in to play? If I wanted to use that 2011 week reserved in 2010 to deposit in to II do they require prepayment of the MF's?
ALSO
If I did deposit the 2011 week in 2010 and requested an exchange...can I still search with the week? If something came up in FLEX and I had an ongoing search against the week-can I still use it to book something else and how does that work? Do I have to cancel the search first-or does it allow me to use it to search and book regardless of the request?
I know my II screen looks different from weeks owners. I can basically do whatever I want with a "float" week and can search as far as II has inventory-I realize this is not the case with weeks that actually have check in dates and expirations.
Still learning after all these years
