  • Marriott's Kauai Beach Club -- room assignment question

I just got an exchange to Kauai Beach Club for next year Easter week. We have never been to Kauai and am wondering what the room view will be like from a 1 bedroom unit. The II confirmation shows the unit as ZZBP - 1 bedroom. Does anybody know what that means? If that isn't a specific type of room, does anybody know how you can request a room with an oceanview? Thanks. Tim

They used to assign the rooms based on what was deposited, not sure if they still do. It wouldn't be visible on the confirmation, but II used to include the owner's name and the view type in the initial email either preceding or accompanying the confirmation.

Glitter Brunello, I bet the view I get won't be half as nice of what we just had at Morritt's Grand.

Tim, there are no views like that at KBC. Even the oceanview rooms are set back either behind the pool, or there's a side view of the ocean. There is one oceanFRONT building (which I haven't known anyone to exchange into), but really, the water view there is kind of a bay, though very pretty. There are more spectacular beaches elsewhere on Kauai, but KBC is a good place to hang your hat, and it's a really nice hotel/resort. The pool and courtyard are very lush with mature plantings, very Hawaiian. Who needs to fly all the way to Hawaii to feel like you're in the Caribbean?

            Kbc

We own on KBC. We have a one bedroom OCEAN FRONT. It was one of Marriott's first ventures into Hawaii. A full one bedroom is really two old one bedroom hotel rooms with a connecting door. They just renovated the rooms. Completed in September. Do you have a full one bedroom or a lockoff portion? They also have OCEAN VIEW and GARDEN VIEW. So, from I understand, it depends on what view you are trading in, and what was traded out. If none of the OCEAN FRONT rooms were traded out, you won't get one. About a month ahead, you can request a room. We do it by fax to the front desk manager. We like the 3rd floor of the OCEAN FRONT. Make sure you go to Duke's and try the "Hula Pie". Order one and share!
