It has forced us to take some RELAXING vacations instead of always coming back from our vacation totally exhausted. We don't have a problem with taking vacations, it's the relaxing part we seem to have trouble with! And we've never looked back. Bought a few years later at Aruba's Surf Club and am in the process of adding another RESALE week w/close set for 7/5. My only concern with the purchase being resale and with the change to points is the home resort priority. We always use the SC and don't anticipate a change in the foreseeable future. I've done the math and am not sure we'll ever break even, but that's fine with us. Timesharing at the quality resorts is pure enjoyment for us, not getting every bang for the buck. It's a discretionary purchase we can afford and has been one of our best yet .
I'm chuckling at your post- not laughing at you but with you- are we related? We only discovered timesharing about 4 years ago and before that- let's just say my family quipped that they always needed a vacation from one of my planned vacations. Like you, we have found Aruba to be the one place that we simply vacation.

What you said about just enjoying yourselves makes so much sense.

ROFR decisions from the last week. Only posted the lowest price waived for each season/view type (so in some cases these specific numbers may not be indicative of the current market- but just an example of a fantastic bargain). Still no reports from any cooperating brokers of Marriott exercising ROFR on any contracts..

(X= Marriott exercised ROFR / W= Marriott waived ROFR and sale going through to the buyer )

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank rikkis_playpen for their efforts here. I think this aspect of the Marriott 'picture' will become increasingly valuable over the next year. Prices and waivers will become like signposts to where this journey is going, especially for developer owners like myself who will not be participating in the points system. Thanks again!

I can't verify this one with documents, so I won't add it to my own list- but here goes.. For members- don't hesitate to add a response to this thread with your own info! My data comes from brokerage sales where I've personally viewed the closing statements so I can confirm the sale completed. Yup, very.....I wonder if we will now start to see Marriott exercising it's ROFR?

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

Makese sense. It's hard to sell odd weeks at resorts where you don't have an active sales program. It's a lot easier to sell points backed by those odd weeks somewhere else, because it doesn't matter where the inventory comes from.

Just as interesting is that they didn't exercise ROFR for this resort in this same season for much less. Maybe we'll see an increase in ROFR for the sold out resorts where they have little to no inventory?

Just had a new Marriott Legend's Edge pass my desk..

                              annual 2br platinum @ $2,000- waived

Doesn't look like they are targeting this one either.
