  • St. Kitts questions

We just traded into St. Kitts (using our Koolina lock-off efficiency) for mid-August. I don't see much info on the forum -has anyone been there recently? Any bulding recommendations? Things to do suggestions? I take it that the island is still fairly quiet, so we intend to mainly chill-out.
Any suggestions/observations would be appreciated. Thanks.

We were married on Nevis in 2007 and divided our honeymoon between there and the Marriott St Kitts. Some quick suggestions:

Marriott - for whatever reason they don't like to serve dinner outside and most evenings none of the restaurants offer it, even though there are tables on the patio and beachside. Insist on it, even though they say no. If you bring a great cd along, they will play it poolside for you, if you ask.

St Kitts - It's a bit of a ride but lunch or dinner at Rawlins Plantation is well worth it. Call ahead. A guided tour of the island is worth it, in my opinion, as is Mr X's Shiggedy Shack.

Nevis - it is a quick ferry ride and a tour of the island is inexpensive but fun. You can also climb Mt Nevis if so inclined. We married at Nisbet Plantation, an elegant place to have dinner. They also have a fantastic beachside bbq and party on Thurs nights, not to be missed.

There's a guy on Nevis - Jungle Jim I think they call him, who will do bonfires on the beach and tell stories about the stars. We booked him through Nisbet Plantation but I'm sure if you ask around you'll find him.

    Enjoy your trip!

There is also a tourist train ride around the island for a small fee, that is close to the international airport.

Most of the 'regulars' here have not been to the Marriott St Kitts - I look forward to your report when u get back.

Sharon - any other tips about the island/resort?

        Have a GREAT time.

We spent a lot of time on the beach and by the pool so unfortunately I don't have a lot to offer in terms of what to do on the island... however, there is a place you can go to see Batik prints being made, and it's a beautiful location. There's an old fort you can explore, most of this can be seen if you book a driver to take you around the island.

          Enjoy your trip!!!

Isn't St. Kitts only 2BR? If so, you will unlikely match until much closer in.

I agree - using a studio for a resort with only 2 and 3BR units is a gamble, not impossible but unlikely this far out.
And this is a very popular resort with a limited amount of units.

Let us know if u get a match.
