  • Malaga here I come.

    Woo Hoo.

    Very excited!!

I just booked a nice getaway with II for 2 weeks in a 3 bedroom at the Malaga Marriott for a girlfriends trip to Spain. Seemed like a good price for $600 each week.

Bought the trip insurance which haven't done yet.

Was wondering if anyone's had to claim on the insurance. Does it include everyone in our party or just me since I purchased the getaway?

Just wondering in case anyone comes down with piggy flu.

Congrats on holding out and getting the bigger size unit.
The MFs on those units are over $1,000

The insurance u bought will only cover the unit.

If u r concerned about anything else - your friends can each buy insurance on their airfare that would cover if they had to cancel their trip or got sick on the trip.

Wow the maintenance is $1000. I knew it seemed like a good deal although I'm going in low season but I don't care. It's Spain and all is good. I saw that Marriott had the rooms for $299 Euros a night. Not sure what the exchange is but I'm sure we did good.

So the trip insurance only covers the unit how? You mean if I can't go for some reason they refund me the money for the unit? What about if something happens to one of us (God forbid) and we change our minds because we don't want to go without one of us? Does it just cover my demise or illness or are we all covered. The II agent never asked for anyone else's name so how would the insurance company know who is going, to know who to cover in case of a problem?

Did I waste $128 for useless coverage? I guess I should have asked this before I purchased it. Didn't think about it until the lady asked me if I wanted the insurance.

I assume it doesn't cover the air fare, right?

Yes, it doesn't cover the airfare.

If you have to cancel the trip and not use the unit - you will get 1,000 back -- that is the maximum of the insurance.
The insurance only covers the unit.

I am going to Harborside during hurricane season....the unit cost me about $800 split four ways between friends...we did not take the insurance because if one of us could not go, the others would still go.

We did all take the insurance from Jet Blue to cover our airfare because if an individual could not go or got ill during the trip or the flights were canceled because of the hurricane - we would each get our $450 airfare back - THAT insurance covered those situations.

edit - MF on a 2BR is over $1,000 - thre BR would be more.

So I guess someone else subsidized my vacation. Oh well, I'm sure I've done the same for others many times before I knew how to maximize my TS's.

I hope they don't make me move from one unit to the other. I got the weeks to run back to back hoping it was the same unit and they won't make me move. Was I thinking correct? Do you think this was a developer unit? Probably won't be a great view but at least it's a 3 bedroom so I'm happy. A view would be a nice surprise. We'll see.

Now I wonder if I should call II back and cancel the insurance. If they only reimburse me $1000 then it was awfully expensive. Usually I don't even bother with the insurance and just have self insured when things go wrong. So far only lost out on 1 deposit with Trafalgar over all these 30 years of travelling when 9/11 hit so I think I might have had a blonde moment when they offered me the insurance. Now I'm not so sure I need it.

We would probably go even if only 2 of us would be able to make it unless the worst happened. Which God forbid. Sorry to be so morbid but I had 3 friends mothers die this week. Seems like a curse in my workplace this week.

I'll just keep my fingers crossed and pray for the best.
