Not really an MVCI issue ....but bad PR . I know Times Sq is a preferred location but surely a room could have been found .
They have 3 locations nearby at least

It appears that Oudin moved due to the increase cost of the room. I don't think Marriott booted her out........

Demands on Oudin Begin to Mount
By David Waldstein
Maybe it was because she had to change hotels, or maybe it’s just that the mounting attention is starting to get to her, but 17-year-old Melanie Oudin looked a little overwhelmed Tuesday.
Oudin came off the practice courts about 5 p.m., a few minutes after Serena Williams walked on, and was greeted by six reporters asking about her coming quarterfinal match with Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark on Wednesday.
“Sorry, I can’t talk right now,” she said through a nervous smile.
She signed autographs for about four minutes, then declined to speak again as she walked back into the women’s locker room. But her coach Brian de Villiers did.
“It’s getting a little stressful for her now,” de Villiers said.
De Villiers confirmed a Sports Business Journal report that he and his pupil had to change hotels. He said the reservation had run out and the price had doubled. “I didn’t want to pay double,” he said, “so we moved across the road.”
Meanwhile, Wozniacki, who is only two years older than Oudin, looked very comfortable going through the same routine. She also signed autographs and answered questions from the same group of reporters. That included one question about what advantages she might have over Oudin. "I’m more experienced than she is,” she said.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.
BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.
The winner will receive $1.6m...so I guess she will get a good cheque. If she left because of a higher room rate ,then Marriott PR might need to respond .
The story is on every news channel in the US.
( I picked up the story on The India Times ! )
But I suppose any publicity is good publicity.
