After reading many of the Marriott posts, we finally made the move to purchase a Desert Springs Villas II Red Season on the resale market. We are excited to be in the process of finalizing our first Marriott TS. I have to admit, that I've learned a lot from the questions and answers provided in this TS Forum. So much so, that we cancelled a deal we started in Hawaii so I could learn more about owning and using a TS to our advantage. I believe the cancellation worked out well for us. During my readings, I came across comments concerning EOY and reduced MF's. I attempted to find the post again in case I just got it wrong, but couldn't locate. Not sure what these comments may have meant. I've looked at a lot of resales on-line and haven't come across one that comments on EOY in connection with reduced MF's. Are there weeks that are specific to EOY and do they have reduced MF's?

Example: If the yearly MF is $1,000, you would pay $1,000 if you're usage was every year and $500 if you usage is every-other-year. Next year if the MF's go up to $1,100, you'd pay $1,100 if your usage is every year and $550 if your usae is every-other-year.Our timeshare and other photo's at http://dougp26364.smugmug.com/

We own a non-Marriott, every other year - odd year and we pay the manintence fees & taxes in the year we use it and not 1/2 every year. So it can vary with resort or chain of resorts.

This is only with our Marriott ownership. We have another week that is not a Marriott week that is as mentioned above where the MF's are billed EOY in the year of usage. It all depends on how the managing company decides it wants to handle it's billing. Our timeshare and other photo's at http://dougp26364.smugmug.com/
