  • Foreign Transaction Fee

Got hit with a 3% foreign transaction fee from my credit card company for paying RHC's annual fee (I am from the US and RHC is not). Called the CC and got a one time waiver. If you anyone paid with checks, did you get charged with any fees from your bank?

Most US banks charge this junk fee even if the transaction is in dollars. Many US credit unions, however, only charge 1% for foreign transactions. The best bet is a Cap One card, which charges 0%. I guess I should ask, as they do in the commercial ''What's in Your Wallet?''

I've not noticed it, my CC charges 1% ftf. A charge for your check would have to be paid by the receiver.

We have a capital one CC because as far as I know it is the only CC company that doesn't chagre this junk fee.

The Charles Schwab card also does not charge the fee. It is a VISA
