  • New to RHC - please, I need information!

I went to Cancun 3 weeks ago with my family, and we decided to join the club, really hoping to be able to travel more than before and with less money.
We only payed the advance yet, and after coming home and reading all the bad reviews, I'm not sure if would be a good idea to pay the rest of the money.
Please tell me if it's worth to be a member ( we have the Bronze membership = 10000 cr).
Has anyone traveled to Europe and bought air tickets using the credits?
    Thanks in advance

You are out of rescind period. So you should try to see if you can use it. If you are willing to destroy your credit, than you can try. But it does not guarantee success.

For your point, it is not idea. You can move one year to next year. So you get 20,000 credit.

If your goal is European, start doing on-line search to make it. Try to make travel plan.

Credit for anything not resort lodge is usually not favor, especially with your point range.

RHC is great, but can be a pain as you will soon find out. Keep track of every payment made and the dates and reference#s for those payments. If you don't pay, their collectors, Concord Services Company will hound you.

10Kpts is way too little to do anything with as you can see if you establish youor online account and see what all the resorts require. You can make it work by saving to the next year advancing years off the end of the contract.

I wouldn't use the points for anything but resorts, using points f0or airfare is a waste as they require way too many points.

        Thanks

        Thank you both.

Were you able to have any vacations through RHC? Any of them in Europe?

For the flight tickets we were told yesterday by the travel agency that we can not use the credits.

When we bought the package we were also told that we would get all the points(300000 - 30 years) from the beginning. Do you think it is possible?

        Thanks again in advance.

I have used them on various US resorts. I have not use them for European resort, but Spence has, and you can just read the post in this forum. Some posts are talking about those resorts.

Don't know anything about use it all in once. The vacation club rule is, if you pay the last MF, you can move these point to use this current year if you are 50 years old. But it is only 1 year per year base. They usually don't check the age part. So instead of 30 years, you can use them in 15 years. But I don't see anything in rule book says you can do all in 1 year.

I have used RHC for vacations in Paris, Madrid, Rome and New York. Multiple times for New York and Madrid. But they have charged me twice for annual fees one year, I have a 25k annual points package, and I bought it for next to nothing. So, I'm very happy despite the administrative headaches of the organization. The bad reviews are from people who bought from RHC, as they always overpay.

You should probably pick up another 15k-20k or so point package cheap on ebay and combine it with your existing one (you can get them for about a dollar plus about $500 in transfer fees to do so), since you won't be able to use your 10k package for anything worthwhile, and the extra purchase will at least dollar cost average down your purchase.

              Many thanks

Thank you Jya_ning and Hoc for your replies. I find them very helpful.

I also have another question Everytime I tried to see the availability for a resort, no matter how many I tried, I received the same messages: either "no results were found", or "this resort is not available for on-line reservation".
Is it a more succesful way to see the availability of a resort for a specific period of time, for example?

              Regards,

              Irene

I've been to or sent friend to NYC Affinia Manhattan, NYC Affinia Dumont, NYC Crowne Plaza Times Square, Brigantine Beach NJ, Club Cala Puerto Rico, Park Royal Cancun, Park Royal Cabo, Napoleon Paris, Plaza Basilica Madrid, Domus Romana and Mayfair Rome, La Contessina Florence, and probably more that aren't coming to mind right now.

To see if there was a systemic problem, I just searched for Rome at beginning of December and there was nothing at Domus Romana, and Carpedium is not available online, but Mayfair had plenty to book from.
