  • What should I do with this year's points.

I haven't used any of my points yet this year and there's slim pickin's. I have 70,000 points. I don't think I will be able to take a vacation any time soon. I would really like to book something to rent out to pay next years maintenance, but I'm not sure if there is anyting I could reserve that would actually sell.

I'm thinking about reserving Tanglewood in the Pocono's for Christmas week. At least if it doesn't rent, it is close to home and I could at least use a couple of days myself or give it to friends.

One of the representatives suggested I go the rci route. He said, he would give me good weeks in cancun or cozumel to deposit, but I don't think that would have much trading power & I have enough weeks already in rci.

I can only roll over 12,000 points this year, because I rolled over some last year.

    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Amy

    Me too, me too....

I would also like to know this too!

I have 30K points that I have not used and RHC has offered me another 30K points for a total of 60K and I have 4 weeks of vacations booked before the year is up and therefore, I won't be able to use these points.

I don't want to roll them over because I really need next years points rolled over for a 2012 trip to Paris.

    Any advice/help would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,
    Piscesqueen

Or book something and rent it. Otherwise, I think the RCI route is your only option.

Someone also told me that SFX has good exchanges if you book an RHC week and deposit with them. I'm going to look into it if I can get anything good booked.

          Hopefully this helps someone

I signed up with both RCI and SFX recently with the intention of depositing my unused RHC points for this year. From what I gathered, you are pretty much out of luck with SFX this year. They won't accept weeks that start less than 45 days from your deposit and they are selective on what they take (must be prime or high demand and selected resorts). If you have checked RHC's inventory recently, you probably noticed there aren't much left.

The good news is if you're going with RCI, RHC may still be able to deposit weeks for you. For example, I called RHC in mid-September and requested to deposit all my unused points. When I looked at my reservation records, it shows RHC deposited 4 weeks in July. So even if they don't have anything left for the remaining of the year, they may still have weeks already deposited.
