  • Can 5000 points get you anything?

I see occassionally see 5000 points for sale on ebay (along with the higher totals) but can a person get anything with 5000 points? Can it be deposited in RCI for an exchange?

Not really. Most of the 3 night stay in USA will require over 6,000 RHC credit.

In Mexico, there is very few that allow you to stay 3 night with 5000 credit or less. And RHC you will have to stay 3 or 4 or 7 nights.

To deposit to RCI, you need at least 1 week worth or credit.

That is one of the reason a lot of owners unhappy.

If you happen to have point like this, IMHO, you can either buy more points, or treat them as once per 3 year deal, so you spend 15,000 credit in every 2 year and short your contract to 20 year instead of 30 year. But it will be very costly, It usually more expensive than just take a rent if you do that way.

5000 points are almost worthless. Your bid, $500 transfer, closing costs, very high MF/pt, $500 to combine with another account, these all add up. As Jya said it won't book a week and when you save or accelerate to do it you then pay RCI fees/exchange fees. With the choice in destinations with RHC, I'd never deposit to RCI.
