Affinia Dumont was this year's #4 on Trip Advisor's list of Top 10 luxury hotels. I have only been to Affinia Manhattan. I didn't find it to be a very luxurious hotel. It is definitely a great place to stay as far as comfort, location & service, but I wouldn't describe it as a luxury hotel. Is Affinia Dumont much nicer?

Pat, if you have a purchase pending, the seller might be able to reserve the room for you. When I purchased mine, the seller made a reservation for me, but put me as a guest. If you wait until the transfer goes though, there might not be anything left. You have to plan ahead for the Dumont. If it is a weeks contract you are purchasing though, you don't have to worry about the amount of points needed to book AM and that is much easier to get.

My closing took about 10 weeks. It was not the closing company but the delay by RHC to register me.
Also, RHC didn't provide me with online log on information. I had to call to tell them my account number and asked them to change the email address and give me a password.
Information of the old owner stayed, so I knew he used only twice in 6 years. That probably explains why he decided to sell 40,000 points for $1.25 I think his address and telephone number were some where in the system as well.

I have never received an ownership document from RHC!... not enough time for all the timeshares ®

Are you hoping to use your 'week' for that one??? - it is a LOT of points.
edit - you DID say your week - and what a great use of it that will be.

Thankfully, I have already more than broken even, so if this should happen, I didn't lose anything.
