I'm currently using a computer that is old, and crotchety, so I couldn't open your link. But, is this the company that was on 2020, last night?

Yikes, they were by far, the worst I've seen in the industry.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

I saw the piece on 20/20 and I thought it was very poorly done. It gave all Vacation Clubs a bad name without really giving any specific information. It never mentioned that there are many reputable Vacation Clubs or the things that people should watch out for. I was really disappointed in what was reported but I'm glad I don't have any interest in Holiday Vacation Club.

I thought it was very good. It was very much needed. It exposed just what happens in the timeshare vacation clubs world. All the lies just to make a sale. To think one could purchase something for 70 g and a few minutes later it could be had for half the starting price is so stupid. Just what does that say about the first salesman ? Super cheat. Then, more heavys come in to make the price even lower. What a bunch of idiots! The fact that what is written on contracts have no legal meaning is crazy. Consumers need to know all the cheats out there that care nothing about vacation needs. There was a lot more that could have been said but I feel they got the message accross very good. Keep your money!

Yes, it is the same company. I didn't see the 20/20 report, but I read it online. I think everyone should be leery of buying a timeshare at a resort where a large number of intervals are owned by a vacation club. It makes the resort too dependent upon the club. If the club is also into resort management, the ability to control who gets elected to the HOA board allows the club to make sweetheart deals with its management company.

This is not a problem if said Club contains good management that cares about more than $$. Bluegreen points system is "A Vacation Club" and I haven't found the corruption you infer. Every place is different. Buyer beware for any ts purchase, whether a club is involved or not.

I think the biggest problem anywhere is sales scum. That can happen at the best-run places as well as Motel6share. It's unfortunate that they are The Face and determine the reputation for what could be a fine system.

WHen they asked how many had taken a vacation and only one couple had, I sure wanted teh follow-up questions asked so we could find out how reasonable their expectations were. oh well. THey also didn't show us the "unacceptable" accomodations. I'd like to judge for myself.

Could u provide a link or tell me where u read it online please?

There are many happy RESALE owners of RHC - because when u buy the membership for under 1K - it can be a great deal.
Hoc and Spence are satisfied owners and I have spoken to several others.

Just like any system, there are people who buy into it and then never travel again.
I know people who own Marriott's and Foxrun weeks and have never gone to their resorts or exchange thru the exchange company, just pay the MFs every year
So when u ask them about TSing - they think it stinks or a rip off or too much trouble.

How come all of us are able to learn how to use what we own and travel to wonderful places every year?

I am not defending RHCs business practices - in fact, I don't even know what they are!
But buying into something then not knowing how to use it - or take the trouble to try and learn, is your own decision/fault. JMHO

I think it is unfortunate that a piece like this can run without rebuttal or a referral to places, like this one, where people CAN learn to be happy with their purchase.

What percentage of people actually do end up learning the ropes on timeshare use?

Where is wacky? We will have her draft something to 20/20 get some publicity and help make more people content.

                          After 38 negative posts:::
Any of you nay sayers are certainly entitled to your opinion, I won't say RHC doesn't have problems. Go here: Royal Holiday Club - Timeshare Forums and get all your questions answered, whether you like RHC or not and whether you like the answers or not. http://www.timeshareforums.com is the place to get you timeshare and vacation club questions answered.
I am not a shill. I am an extremely happy Royal Holiday Club owner. I would be glad to explain it all to 20/20; how I go to New York City for a week in Affinia hotels for ~$350 annual cost. This summer I'm going to Florence and Rome for 10 days, and also have two weeks on the Jersey shore at Brigantine. Also sending in-laws to NYC for a 4 day break in June and a week in Cancun in July. 20/20 please contact me.

Well they wouldn't let me use my preferred user name said it was already used. Lawren2???. Went through the hoops to log in and cannot get my comment to post on their site.

I'll try reloading it after I clean the cache.

                            ETA: OK That worked.
