  • Guest Certificate?

I am doing a direct exchange of a Royal Holiday Club reservation for a Worldmark week. This is my first exchange of a Royal Holiday week. All RHC requested was the guest's name. They did not request any other information (address, email, etc.). They also said they would email the updated reservation to me (of course they did not but I will call again tomorrow).

Is this standard operating procedure for another person using the reservation? Would the RHC property (Affinia Manhattan) have the guest's name in their reservation system once the change is made or do they receive guest lists right before check in?

    Thanks for your help.

I did a direct exchange with someone. While it wasn't RHC; my resort just asked for a name, her resort asked her for my name and address. I received paperwork from her resort and also from my resort, which I mailed to her.
I'm sure every resort is different on how they identify the exchanger...Did you call the resort and ask what they accept on check-in?

A RHC reservation may be put in any guest's name. The RHC owner can download the .pdf file and at the bottom of the confirmation will appear the guest's name, nothing else is needed.

The Affinia will not have the owner's name or the guest's name until a few days to a week prior!

I actually call Affinia Manhattan and RHC both to confirm my Guest. But the name is the only thing RHC ask me.

I think the confirmation pdf form only happen if you use on-line to make reservation.

the confirmation pdf form is available if you use on-line, whether you made the reservation online or by phone is immaterial

When I do rentals at Affinia I usually call a week or 2 before the arrival date. The reservation is always in my name, even if I have a RHC confirmation with the guest's name on it. I ask the reservations agent at Affinia to add the guest's name to the reservation. Sometimes I get an agent who is unwilling to do this, but I just call back and get someone else. This way if the guest wants to call in with any special requests, their reservation can be pulled up under their name.

Once the guest's name has been added into Affinia's system, it stays under both of your names. Make sure the guest brings the confirmation to avoid any problems.

RHC is not very good in getting Admin right. I think my record was 3-4 calls to get a guest's name added and to get the appropriate updated confrimation e-mailed to me. the update of guest's name is free.

For Affinia Dumont, I had a reservation for my sister and I had trouble getting it added and confirmed with RHC so double check with Affinia Dumont and guess what, they did not have her name a few weeks out. So I give it to them and she was fine checking in.

I never assume anything with RHC after my first experience where I arrived in London a day late for a reservation for 2 Hyde Park in Dec 2005. I did not have the confirmation with me (since it was never sent to me with the reunionfication that was happening) and I was still a little naive about RHC. When I tried to call the hotel/apt from the airport lounge they told me they do not have a reservation for me. After 30 minutes on the phone with the clerk it turned out the reservation was under the previous owner's name and I had to argue for another 30 minutes at the lobby that guy and wait 30 minutes for the Manager plus another 15 minutes of checking before I can be let into my unit. I was definitely not a happy camper. Even less so when the hotel / apt tried to charge me 90 pounds for accessing a toll free UK conference number. Now I don't assume anything and double / triple check and get everything in writing and correct any mistakes found when I get it in writing

I am a weeks owner so must do everything over the phone.
I added a guest to a resie for this summer and they emailed me the confirmation with the guests name on it.
                No Problem....
