  • Spence can you verify the truth here?

    Spence,

    Found this OY.

Do you agree with the rental at Affina Dumont for $2100? Is this a true statement and is it possible?

I think this lady is Marylyn Carlisle? Does she post here on the 4MS?

I OWN AT ROYAL HOLIDAY IN CANCUN. THIS ALLOWS ME TO USE MY WEEK ANYWHERE IN THE ROYAL HOLIDAY SYSTEM.

I routinely reserve NYC at the Affinia Dumont with this week. Then I turn around and rent it for $2100.

Tug members see Royal Holiday and run for the hills but my contracts, I have two of them, are EACH for FULL WEEKS, in at least A ONE BEDROOM VILLA.

We have stayed in NYC several times in the Affinia Dumont. My week is deeded in Mexico but you can use it any time (but Holy week and the end of the year holidays) in ANY RHC resort and we usually pick New York.

The Affinia is located on 34th Street and Lexington Avenue and is right in the middle of the action. You will be near the shows and museums. You will have bus and subway service at your door.

We have also stayed in Rome in a lovely one bdrm apt at the Domus Romana which is a wonderful converted monastery. The ceilings are 13 ft high and are hand painted.

We've stayed in London in a one bedroom apt at the Allen House and at 2 Hyde Park.

We are only going to use our Marriott and DVC timeshares going forward. That's why we are getting rid of these two contracts. IN FACT WE HAVE A 15K POINT CONTRACT FOR SALE AS WELL.

Your usage will begin in April of 2009 and your maintenance fees will be due then.

The Company, Royal Holiday > charges $500 to transfer every contract. That money is paid directly to them.

I will use Timeshare Transfer to close the contract and I WILL PAY HALF OF THAT FEE!!!

YOU WILL BE PAYING $500 + $150 FOR EACH WEEK. NOTHING MORE.

    Thanks,

    Marylyn

      Billy,

I was wondering the same thing. I came across her ebay auction. I watched it and it didn't sell. It was relisted and I just checked on it and it sold for .01.
See here...I'm sure it's the same person Item number: 150263290845.

        Greetings from Venice.

That person has been an avid RHC fan, why she is selling, I do not know. Depending on the dates Affinia can charge twice that much for their rates but I have never gotten much more than $1400 for a week there, but here quote is not out of the realm of possibility if you can find the right rentor.

          Hi Spence,

Ahhhh Venice, I wish I were there. How are enjoying your trip, so far?

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

I don't know why either - the only problem I have heard from two 'weeks' owners (versus points) is that u can not reserve online yet with weeks - u have to keep on calling. But the other owner I know as able to reserve a 1BR for this July in London...weeks ownership does seem more cost effective if used in Europe versus US locations as US locations require less points with lower MFs associated then the European locations.

Even at $1400 you would still be ahead of the game and covering your maint costs. Sounds like a decent business plan to me.

Enjoy your stay in Venice. Did you get this trade thru RHC?

                Spence, how is Domus Romana?

I have a November week reserved, so am very excited to know more about this resort.

I plan to reserve another week for summer 2009 (from June to early October). Do you know when Royal Holiday will release those weeks? Thanks.

Venice was amazing, hadn't been before. Now in Florence.

Using the week Studio, Ambassador, or Presidential for the high priced European spots is the way to go, works for NYC, too.

Venice I did on VRBO, apartment was only OK, but very well placed. Florence and Rome through RHC.

Not to Rome yet, I'd think that next year's weeks should be released soon.

Spence, enjoy your vacation in Italy and you will definitely like Rome too. Are you visiting more countries yet? It is a great time of the year because the weather is good in most of Europe nowr.
