We just got back from our first trip to Italy (visited Florence, Siena and Venice) and stayed at RHC's Florence property for four days. We had a great time and, even though the unit cost a lot of points in July, we would recommend staying at the Residence La Contesina.
We like the location. It is within walking distance of the main train station and the sights and many restaurants.
The bed is in a loft upstairs and the rest of the unit is on the main level. Both the loft area and the main level have air conditioning. The bathroom was on the main level near the stairs. The main level also had a kitchen area, small dining area and living room area (with sofa and tv). The kitchen seemed to have everything, including a full size refrigerator. There is a note indicating that there is a 25 Euro charge if the kitchen is used during your stay. We used the refrigerator and some glasses and was not charged the 25 Euros.
There was an indoor courtyard right outside our room with a few tables. Breakfast was included and served in the basement. Coffee (from a big machine), juices, pastries, cheese, yogurt and toast were provided. The breakfast was not as good and had less selection than the other places we stayed but it was fine (and definitely worth more than the price). The rooms were cleaned daily.
The front desk staff was nice and helped us with the bus schedule to Siena and helped others with touring questions. They spoke English well.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
