  • RHC Weeks memberships

These are older memberships which give you a Studio, Ambassador, or Presidential week depending on what you own. But did you know:
    • you can split your week up into a 4nights and a 3night stay for $30
    • you can get a bigger unit than what you own by paying the difference in maintenance fees
    • you can book the high priced points resorts and really get a bang for you MF buck.

No, I did not know this. Thanks for the information, Spence. Can you double up on week usage if you are over 50 like you can in the points system?

I didn't know about the split fee
I didn't know about the bigger unit upgrade.

I do not think so, but don't know for sure. I doubt it, as I know there's no way to 'save' a week from one year to the next.

That's great to know. I'm going to have to start hunting for one of those $1.00 weeks on ebay!

BTW Spence, do you happen to know if the weeks transfer fee is the same ($500.00)?

Not many of those, what with the $500 RHC transfer fee and the trumped up closing fees of $200-$600. RHC can be a great bargain if you learn how to use it and can stay on top of their poor administrative practices.

How far in advance can you book if you own one of these weeks?

                    RHC Weeks "presidential" type

I have a client willing to give one of these away, but I don't accept listings at this time for this property.. If you are interested, PM me and I'll send him your contact info..

I bet they are! A "Presidential" carries a whopping maintenance fee, what are they showing it as right now?

                        I think it's a year out.

                          Presidential contract m.fees

Per the seller only (no discovery or estoppels have been secured- again this is not an active listing so I can't personally confirm)...

He stated he pays about $950 per year currently.. Not too bad considering the usage options. He last used it at the Affinia Manhattan for a week which is the equivalent of about 50,000 pts.

I think the main issue with these contracts is that RHC hates them! They obviously get a much better profit margin with the point contracts- so the transfer process will not be easy. Both buyer and seller will have to be patient and very persistent!

These are really good contracts from a usage standpoint- but nobody really knows about them since the move to points.

$950 sounds about right and if you shop it right you can do well as you indicate. Transfer fees are still $500.

                              Thanks Spence!

I was looking at these but did not know about the upgrade in unit size. That makes the studio an option for me!
