  • RCH London Allen House

    Hello All,

Can anyone tell me when they release availability for 2009 in London and Scotland? I went to book yesterday for next October and was told no availability was released yet. Also is it tough to get London and Scotland? I'm new at this and could use a little insight. Going to Cancun for our first trip!

    Thanks
    Willie

London is very, very hard to get especially since Carlton Court is no longer a timeshare. I bought in London as I love going there and could never get a good week. I'd offer you mine, but it's taken for the next few years. Sorry !

You have to be very lucky, connected or willing to pay for a Getaway on II.

Scotland is easier, but it depends on where & when you want to visit Scotland. Edinburgh is difficult.

Enjoy Cancun and welcome to TS4Ms !! Nice to have you here. Sorry for the delay in responding, but this is a very busy time for all

      Hello and welcome

A friend who owns RHC was able to reserve summer London 2008 in January 2008.
I reserved summer 2009 Paris in November 2008, I could have also reserved April Florence and May Paris at that time. Because I am a 'weeks' owner, I have to call - if you have a points account - you can check weekly (or more often) online to see when things become available.

Maybe someone who has reserved RHC London/Scotland will check in.

              Grayfal,

Was your friend reserved at Allen House or Nell Gwynn Apartments?

In Paris are you at Citadines or Nepolean? I had reserved Citadine 2 years ago for a weekend for a Dutch friend as her significant Bday present and another for a Canadian university friend (currently living in South of France last Nov). The Dutch friend found everything decent but not fancy but the canadian friend did not like the neighbourhood near Gare du Lyon and thought it is a bit run down. Some of her husbands colleagues stay at another Citidine in Paris on business and she said it is nicer.

Several months ago, I saw Allen House New Years Eve week 09/10 but when I went back to try and book it, it was gone.

I think it may be too late to book Allen House and Nell Gwynn apartments are organized when they leased several apartments for 1 year stretch and start renting it out for weeks and even days and it maybe that lease contract is up for renewal and not finalized.

Mary, it was jerseygirl on TUG who reserved London...you might PM her.

I have Citadines as does mariap - my resie is for July - I am a 'weeks' owner - I have a studio but was able to upgrade to a 1BR by paying the $160 'difference' in the MFs.
Weeks owners are not afforded the 'top' resorts from what I can see so I believe the London resie for jerseygirl was at Nell not Allen House.

                    Hi Pat,

Jerseygirls ressie was for Nell Gwynn House which is a better deal under the weeks system than the 45-65K for studio and 66-85K under points for 1 bdrm vs 15-25K for 1bdrm for Allen House. Nell Gwynn House is slightly better for transport but I did not like the fact that the phone in the 1bdrm did not work at all, even for internal msg or door bell.

Actually, I ended up renting it from her last minute when she could not use it and did a theatre run When back for my own Allen House reserveration for New Years and caught a few more shows before Paris and Lyon.

I think $20-25 per day is definitely worth the upgrade to 1bdrm. I have to laugh, my Dutch friend had 4 in the room for the weekend enjoyed it but my Canadian friend with only 2 (but they have a large company paid for apt right now in south of france for their family of 5) was not impressed with the 1bdrm. Go figure. I think she stayed at nice places outside Paris (Marriott TS in EuroDisney) and is using it to compare.

                      Hi all:
I'm new to RHC but I did manage to book Allen House last week online for a week beginning April 22, 2010. There were two different weeks available online at that time. I was actually looking for Madrid or Rome at that time, but since I generally have been checking flexible date and location, Allen House came up. Sometimes with timeshare you never know where your going to end up. I've always passed through London in a whirlwind, so I'm looking forward to a whole week to take in the sights and sounds.

                        Steve,
                        That's great & amazing - good for you !!!
As an Allen House owner, I know that it's hard to trade into. That's why I bought a distressed property there 10+ years ago.
May I ask what you traded in with ? If you'd rather not say, no problem.
                        Thanks,
                        B.

                          Beaglemom:
I found the week online with RHC and picked up a studio, sleeps four. The description indicates it's a 1BR. It was around 15K points. I also booked a Del Mar, CA studio for Jan, 2010 as the end to a winter, desert trip starting in Phoenix. (also around 15K points)
Now I need to burn the rest of my 2009 points as they would only let me move about 1/2 of my 2009 points to 2010.

                            Steve,

Did you have to pay 2010 fees? I am surprised by the 50% rollover since you are suppose to be able to move 100% one year and 20% the next year on alternating basis.

                              Hi Mary:
I just acquired this 30K package this year and I'll have to check and see if the last owner had transferred 100% last year. This may be why they said I could only transfer the 20%.
