    Booking for Royal Holiday

It depends a bit on where you want to stay and for how long.

If you want to stay in an apartment, you will need to go with Citadines Apart'hotel, which I am told is quite nice and the location is OK - and their prime season (costs more points) is July, August, and October. You will have plenty of points for two weeks there in non-prime season. And you can get a week and a half in prime. The Napoleon is a lovely hotel in a lovely location but its prime season May, June, September, October.

March could still be a little cool and rainy - April was nice when I was there two years ago- and you aren't in prime tourist season, so things aren't quite so mobbed. And your points will go further.

As to how far ahead of time to book, the earlier the better. You could book in April at Citadines right now and you could book in March at the Napoleon now. I would certainly start checking twelve months ahead of when you want to go.

      Hotel Napoleon

Just back from 2 weeks here. SamH's write-up on the first page nails the overall overview.

We were told that very few people stay there for more than 3 days. Since we would be there for 2 weeks we were upgraded to a "better" room. SamH's description sounds pretty much like our room too!

The location was excellent for metro and bus access.

The location was poor for us looking for an American breakfast in the area. We passed on the breakfast at the hotel (26 euros pp). A few places in the area were open for a Continental breakfast but a croissant and coffee (especially since I don't drink coffee) is insufficient for me.

Are any of the RHC/Citadines locations on the Left Bank?

Check out the St Germain location. If I am remembering correctly, St Germain is in/very close to the Left Bank.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

            Paris locations

While there are many Citandines in Paris, Royal Holiday has only the one that is near the Opera Bastille and Gare de Lyons - not on the left bank. I am staying there in December - will report in.

Anyone know what is going on with Crowne Plaza (New York) and Royal Holiday? There are no longer any suites (not that the suite was really worthy of the name) and they only released three months of 2011?

Thanks everyone for all the info; I really appreciate it!

I'm really looking forward to your trip report. Can you also tell me if you think Paris is appropriate for an 18 year old. My daughter really wants to go there but some ppl have told me that she'd be pretty bored.

Location looks great for us - thanks, Ang. I found the hotel, but don't see it listed on the RHC website - does anyone know if it's available through RHC?
