  • I'm a new owner

I bought VI on ebay and it finally closed last week. I ended up with two contracts EOY 77/105. With about 400+ points in the bank. So I made my first booking for 12/23 - 12/28 we're going to do Christmas away.

I'm still learning how to use their website. I'm not sure how or if I can use bonus time. I can't find a spot on their website. Is that only for original owners?

Anything that is open 15 days before can be used as bonus time

The rates are on the site. There is a lot of info to go over on the site, spend some time and look it over,

Congratulations on your new ownership. I looked at VI also, it looks like a
nice system. I'm keeping them in mind when I need some more weeks in a few
        years. Enjoy.

BONUS TIME must be booked by phone. VI makes no distinction whether you buy retail or resale, that's a good thing. They will be calling you to try to make your points perpetual if they're not already. They called me today! Here are the benefits of Prestige Membership http://www.timeshareforums.com/forum...embership.html which you can only get from making points permanent

So I just look on their site to see availability then call? Or is there a separate bucket of availability for Bonus time that I can't see online?

Go to the page for the VI resort you are interested in and click on "Availability" on the left side. Once you find the nights within 15 days from today's date that you'd like to book, you call and ask for those notes and specify "Bonus Time". They will ask for your credit card number and remind you that your reservation non-refundable, non-exchangeable....basically set it stone. They'll send a receipt to your e-mail address, if you have one on file.

Sometimes they mess up and charge extra money to your VI account, or use up points. Both have happened to me and I've booked something like 5 bonus time reservations since I signed up in Feb. of 2010. They fixed the issue when I called about it but it's something to keep an eye on!

Thx, I was wondering if there was a separate inventory for bonus time but I guess not.
