I have not seen any further news on this since the July 5th VRI press release.

While there was much speculation as to how it would work when the news broke I have seen nothing concrete since the announcement.

I did receive the Autumn newsletter from MROP which just said "VRI buys ORE" and little else. Have not received any communication from ORE.

Has there been any communication whatsoever either from VRI or ORE. What is either saying on the phone to any enquiries regarding the matter.?

Anybody heard something.?

all quiet here but I won't receive my MF bill for VRI-Cape Winds until year end.

Thanks for reminding me about this I need to recheck resorts as an in-house VRI/ORE trade might be beneficial as I go "cold turkey" from RCI.

My understanding is that VRI wants to roll out the new combined company by yearend. Until its ready I don't think they plan to release anymore details. As we saw at OLCC (points) letting a half finished plan trickle out doesn't help anyone and can cause confusion. I would like to see what they plan to offer but would prefer it be complete and well designed from the first presentation.

When I called about my mf's I told them I was thinking of selling MROP or switching over to II. They told me to hang in at least another year as VRI will open up many more avenues. shaggy

Well, as it happens the ORE Time to Share brochure came today.

Here are a couple of quotes:

" ... and make many VRI locations available to you as owners next year. Our goal is to continue the cost effective, simple to use internal exchange program and add many VRI resort locations."

" We intend to eliminate the name ORE and rename the internal exchange "VRI*ety" by October 1, 2006. However, the services we provide will remain intact and unchanged as will the way you use your timeshare at your home resort, in our internal exchange and RCI or Interval International."

In addition there is an ad for VRI rentals. I'll be checking the web site Sunday/Monday for the expected update and the clarification on "many VRI locations".

I have a 2007 week that I was going to deposit with II or RCI and trying to determine, if I should do that or wait. It is Foxrun, VRI resort.

I'm holding back my summer cape cod week from RCI. Of course I was doing that in protest with RCI anyway (higher fees and less weeks exchange availability) but this VRI/ORE deal may give me another facet to my plans for that week altogether.

Can't advise on your Foxrun although I thought historically that was an II trader?

It has done good with II and OK with RCI, you do have an VRI preference with RCI or VRI resorts.

VRI/ORE Exchange Program

I attended the Tahoe Beach and Ski Annual meeting September 16, and the Board asked the owners to send e-mail to the Management, if the owners are interested in participating in a new VRI/ORE exchange program. No other details were given, but I wonder how RCI would take this. Will they suspend the 3 years for the price of 2 membership renewal if VRI becomes a competitor, or maybe up it to 4 years for 2 to prevent members from dropping RCI?

The ORE web site has changed to VRI branding, but that seems to be about all for now.
