If you are an ORE Owner, what has been your experiences with the ORE Exchange system? In your opinion should the VRI owners encourage their HOA to join that system?

I've been able to get a few nice weeks on the exchange, including 2 summer weeks at Peppertree Atlantic Beach Villas and a summer Country Club Villas week. Lagonita Lodge weeks are often there for winter and summer (this summer is gone right now, but they were there until a few months ago for late July and August.) Some Washington coastal and east coast coastal summer weeks show up once in a while as well. There's always lots of availablity for Texas - both April Sound at Lake Conroe and Puente Vista. There are lots of Park City ski weeks available (all at very standard resorts). Gold Crown/5 star resorts won't show up as ORE has very few resorts that fall under this category. Jackson Center Townhomes will show up offseason.

I deposited a Jackson Pines July 4 week recently, so some lucky person got that week.

I have actually thought it might hurt current ORE owners if a bunch of new resorts are added because availability might drop (of course, there would be additional weeks entering the system, so it might be good for owners - there's no way to know how it would impact the system.)

I can't think of any negatives about joining the exchange program for VRI resorts. People would just have another option and it doesn't cost anything to be part of the exchange system.

Another nice thing about the system is that you don't have to have a week deposited to do a search. It's all search first - and if you find something you want, you can then deposit your week. Well - not exactly - you can put in an ongoing search over the phone (I'm pretty sure you don't pay until the search is matched) but I believe you do have to have a week on deposit in order to do the ongoing search.

Weeks show up randomly throughout the year. It's pretty unpredictable. They do an annual scheduling in June, and a good number of weeks show up right after this, but then many more weeks show up randomly throughout the year.
